1 cup crumbled feta cheese
(optional)
salt and freshly ground black
pepper to taste
1 cup croutons
Dressing:
'A cup extra-virgin olive oil
'A cup cider vinegar
1 tsp. sugar
To cook: Preheat grill to medium-
high. Brush the carrot halves, jalape-
nos and strawberries with olive oil.
Grill the carrots and jalapenos until
they are slightly charred on all sides.
Remove to a dish to cool completely.
Grill the strawberries for about 1
minute on each side. Remove to a
dish to cool.
Cut the carrots into thin slices
(they will be half circles since the car-
rots were cut in half lengthwise origi-
nally). Cut off the stem ends of the
jalapenos, remove the seeds (use your
fingers) and cut into thin rounds.
Combine the carrots, jalapenos,
strawberries, almonds and arugula in
a large bowl. Set aside.
Whisk together the dressing ingre-
dients in another bowl, and pour
over the salad. Add salt and pepper
to taste, and toss well. Serve with
the cheese, if desired, and croutons
sprinkled over the top. Makes 6 serv-
ings.
POTATOES GRILLED IN
FOIL PACKS
It doesn't matter which side of the
foil faces out, but shiny is prettier if
you're serving right out of the packet.
1 lb. Yukon gold potatoes, peeled,
cut into 1-inch chunks
1 lb. sweet potatoes, peeled, cut
into 1-inch chunks
1 lb. redskin potatoes, unpeeled,
cut into 1-inch chunks
1 lb. fingerling potatoes, whole
(or halved lengthwise if large)
12 whole cloves of garlic, peeled
11 /4 cup olive oil
3 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes
kosher salt and pepper to taste
Heat grill to medium-high. Tear 4
sheets of heavy-duty foil (about 24
inches), and stack 2, one on top of
the other. Toss together all the ingre-
dients in a large bowl, and arrange
in the center of the foil. Top with the
other 2 sheets of foil (stacked), and
form into a long well-sealed packet.
Place on a cookie sheet, and transfer
to the hot grill. Cook for 45 minutes
to 1 hour, with the top of the grill or
barbecue closed (may take longer if
making on an open grill). Carefully
open the packet, and serve in the foil
on a platter. Makes 12 servings.

At The Movies
The Hangover Part III, opening
Thursday, May 23, will be the last
Hangover film and, unlike the sec-
ond entry in the series, will not
largely repeat the plot of the first.
This time the gang goes on a road
trip — but there's no wedding or
bachelor party.
Once again, Todd Phillips, 42,
directs, with the whole original
crew on board, including West
Bloomfield-raised Justin Bartha,
34, and veteran (and Wayne State
grad) Jeffrey Tambor, 69.
Frances Ha, which opens on
Friday, May 24, is directed by Noah
Baumbach, 43, and was co-written
by Baumbach and the film's star,
Greta Gerwig. She plays a New York
woman who tries, in her late 20s, to
start a career as a dancer. Gerwig
co-starred in Baumbach's previ-
ous film, Greenberg. Shortly after
that film opened in 2010, he broke
up with his wife, actress Jennifer
Jason Leigh, 51, and began dating
Gerwig.
