eatrice "Bea" and Abraham
Sacks were founding members
of Temple Emanu-El in Ok Park,
joining in the summer of 1952 what was
to be called the Suburban Temple. He
became membership chair, and she par-
ented the Social Action Committee that
today bears her name.
The soul and spirit of that committee,
Mrs. Sacks will be remembered at Temple
Emanu-El as a singular presence who
pushed for justice and righteousness.
Beatrice "Bei' Goldman Sacks, 92, of
Huntington Woods died Jan. 3.
Rabbi Joseph Klein of Emanu-El said, "I
regularly received calls from Bea that usu-
ally began with: 'Rabbi, I want to talk with
you about a social action project that we
should take on, and here's what I think we
should do .. : Bea always had another proj-
ect, another thing that we, sometimes that
I, ought to do — and she was always right"

Mr. Ebner was the beloved son of the

DANIEL ELMOUCHI, 90, passed away
peacefully from natural causes while
under hospice care in Grand Rapids on
Jan. 3, 2012.
He was born in Oran, Algeria, to Eli
and Assiba Nouchy, who both passed
away before he was 5. His loving aunts
Mary and Stella raised him and his sister,
Georgette.
Dan graduated from La Sorbonne, Paris,
France, with a degree in engineering and
was a pilot in the French Air Force during
World War II.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert
Elmouchi of Southfield and Neil Elmouchi
of California; his two grandchildren, Dr.
Darryl Elmouchi of Grand Rapids and
Kimberly Elmouchi Lau of California; five
great-grandchildren; his ex-wife, Ruth
Elmouchi; many relatives in France and
Israel, including his loving sister, Georgette.
Memorial services will be announced at
a later date.
CLARA FRIEDMAN, 88, of Farmington
Hills, died Jan. 4, 2012.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Mona Rickart and Bob Schey
of Farmington Hills; many other loving
family members and friends.
Mrs. Friedman was the beloved wife of
the late Jack Friedman; devoted sister of
the late Marilyn Wald.

American Heart Association. Interment
took place at Adat Shalom Memorial Park
Cemetery in Livonia. Arrangements by

Mrs. Sacks is survived by her daugh-
ter, Laura Sacks (Martin) Kohn; and
son, Andrew (Ann Sweet) Sacks; grand-
children, Lily Sacks (Paul) Hubbard,
Maggie Kohn, Anna Kohn, Alison Sacks
and Marjorie Sacks; great-grandchild,
Penelope Bea Hubbard; loving nephews,
Richard Fischman and Steve Shapiro;
also many other dear family and loving
friends.
Mrs. Sacks was the loving wife of the
late Abraham Sacks.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

She was the cherished mother of Julie

(Myles) Beck and Amy (Simon) Abbott;
loving grandmother of Erica, Madison
and Nathan Chomsky, Lewis, Lexie, Rose
and Pearl Beck, and Jada Abbott.
Mrs. Goldberg was predeceased by her
husband, Solomon E. Goldberg. She was
the devoted daughter of the late Helen
and the late Louis Freedman; sister of
Charles (Elsie) Freedman, the late Rachel
(Sidney) Brickner and the late Walter
(Elaine) Freedman; sister-in- law of
Miriam (Jack) Shenkman, the late Esther
(Leo) Stein, the late Sarah Betty (Milton)
Weiss. She also is survived by many
nieces and nephews.
ANNE GOULD, 92, of West Bloomfield,
died Jan. 3, 2012.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Cindy Gould and Behrooz
Tasoojy of Ann Arbor; son and daughter-
in-law, Glenn and Kerri Gould of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Ariana
Tasoojy-Gould, Andrew and Katie Gould,
Jacob Gould, Leah Gould; great-grand-
child, Jayms Gould.
Mrs. Gould was the beloved wife of the
late George J. Gould; loving sister of the
late Max Nowend, the late Fannie Barnett.
