parents are Jerald
(Veronique) Gottleib, Paul Karr and
Merle Bean; her great-grandparents are
Bernard and Muriel Moray. She is also
the granddaughter of the late Stanley
Bean and the late Barbara Sarko Karr
and the great-granddaughter of the
late Eleanor Sarko, the late Fanny
and Norman Karr, the late Tommy
and Edith Miller, the late Oscar and
Gertrude Bean, and the late Sadie and
Sam Gottlieb.
Blair attends Dunckel Middle School
in Farmington Hills. Her most mean-
ingful mitzvah program is volunteer-
ing at the Friendship Circle in West
Bloomfield.

the Torah as a bar
mitzvah at Adat
Shalom Synagogue
in Farmington Hills
Berkey
on Saturday, Sept. 3.
Participating in the
ceremony will be his parents, Lisa and
Paul Berkey, and sister Sarah. Proud
grandparents are Mickie and Sam
Orechkin of Delray Beach, Fla., Jane and
Sanford Golin of Boynton Beach, Fla.,
and Faye Berkey of Boynton Beach. Jack
is also the grandson of the late Richard
Berkey.
Jack is an eighth-grade student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. His mitzvah projects
included volunteering at the Miracle
League.

as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Sept.
3, at Congregation
Beth Shalom in Oak
Park. He is the son of
Julianne and Howard
Berlin
Berlin and the brother
of Max. Sharing in
this simchah will be proud grandpar-
ents Harriet Berlin and Judy and Sam
Weiner. Aaron is also the grandson of
the late Irving Berlin.
Aaron is an eighth-grade student
at Norup International School in Oak
Park. For his mitzvah project, he was
honored to work at a summer camp for
students with autism.

Brooke Rose
Bulmash will lead
the congregation
at Temple Israel
in West Bloomfield
Saturday, Sept. 3, as
she celebrates her bat
mitzvah. She is the

daughter of Lisbeth
and Mark Bulmash
and the sister of Grant. Sharing in the
simchah will be her proud grandpar-
ents Carolyn and Dr. Milton Jacobs
and Margarete Bulmash. She is also
the grandchild of the late Dr. Jerome
Bulmash.
Brooke attends Hathaway Brown
School in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Her
most meaningful mitzvah project was
raising funds, volunteering and par-
ticipating in the Tour de Cure Bicycle
event to raise funds for the American
Diabetes Association.

her bat mitzvah
Friday, June 24,
with Rabbi Olivier

Cassidy
Alef Synagogue in
Seattle. Celebrants
included sister Mia; Ruby's dad,
Peter Cassidy; grandmother Barbara
Cantor of West Bloomfield; aunts,
Nancy Cohen Vardy, Marcy Grantor
of Seattle, Jody Cantor, Wendy
Vandegrift of Santa Cruz.
Ruby is in eighth grade at Salmon
Bay School in Seattle. Her mitzvah
project involved gathering supplies
and cooking for 100 homeless men
and women.

on Monday, Sept. 5,

Beth Ahm in West
Bloomfield. Proud
grandparents are William and Suzy
Darmon of West Bloomfield and
Sheldon and Florence Dulberg of
Farmington Hills.
Samantha is an eighth-grade
student at Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. Her most meaningful mitz-
vah project was making and sell-
ing bracelets, which she worked
on with her nana, mom and sister;
she then donated all the money to
the Holocaust Memorial Center in
Farmington Hills.
