EDWARD W. SCHWARZ, 82, formerly of
Bloomfield Hills, died July 12, 2011, after
a courageous battle with prostate cancer.
He was born in Stuttgart, Germany,
and came to the United States in 1940
on the last ship out of London with his
parents Eugene and Annie Schwarz.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.
His professional career included IBM
branch manager, Detroit, and president
of Citizens' Mortgage Corporation.
Upon retirement he did assignments
for International Executive Service Corp.
in Guatemala and Ecuador. He also built
houses in Bridgeport for Habitat for
Humanity and worked at the Norwalk
Probate Department.
Mr. Schwarz was an ardent skier and
loved skiing at Stratton Mountain, Vt.,
where he and his family owned a sec-
ond home. He was a tennis player and a
collector of antique clocks and art pho-
tography. His greatest love was working
in his garden and always repainting his
fences.
He loved travel and went on many
family vacations, gathering his children
and grandchildren from Detroit and
Chicago. He was known for his keen
sense of wit and enjoyment of life.

Mr. Schwarz passed on surrounded
by his loving wife, Shirlee, of 54 years;
children, Tom Schwarz and his wife Jane
Goldenberg, Carolyn Tisdale and her
husband Larry; and his grandchildren,
Marisa and Harrison Schwarz, Jason,
Rachel, and Lauren Tisdale.
The funeral was held at Temple Israel
in Westport, Conn. Contributions may
be made to the Temple Israel Caring
Committee or the Whittingham Cancer
Center, Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, CT.

Brendan Biddle. He is also survived by
Lillian's family, Joan (Elliott) Bain, Carol
(Michael) Kromirs; eight grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Title was the father of the late
Gerald Title; father-in-law of the
late Beverly Title; brother of the late
Shepherd Title.
Contributions may be made to Temple
Israel or a charity of one's choice.
Interment at the Beth El Memorial Park
Cemetery in Livonia. Arrangements by

BARBARA TOBIAS, 82, of Boynton
Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully July
5, 2011.
She was born Nov. 23,1928, in Detroit.
She was a full of life person, a loving
wife, mother, grandmother and a friend
to many. She will be truly missed and in
the family's hearts forever.
Mrs. Tobias is survived by her lov-
ing and devoted husband Charles of 60
years; loving children, Pamela Tobias
Barnett (Ronald Barnett) of Lake Worth,
Fla., Jeffrey Tobias (Charlotte Weiner
Tobias) of West Bloomfield; grand-

daughter, Jamie. She was the daughter
of the late Charles Bross and the late
Rebecca Bross Rossen; sister of the late
Sheldon Bross and the late Seymour
Bross.

BEVERLY WEINGARDEN, 79, of West
Bloomfield, died July 15, 2011.
She is survived by her daughters
and sons-in-law, Deborah and Ronald
Spinner of Israel, Linda and Murray
Baruch of West Bloomfield, Ilene and
Vincent Giannini of Ambler, Pa.; grand-
children, Mira and Yonaton Katz, Sarit
and Assaf Chenchinsky, David and Yael
Spinner, Daniel Spinner, Arieh Lever,
Amitai Spinner, Jeremy and Rachel
Baruch, Adam Baruch, Sarah Baruch,
Jonathan Giannini, Justin Giannini,
Julie Giannini; great-grandchildren,
Ori Katz, Tal Katz, Shoham Katz, Roie
Chenchinsky, Shahked Chenchinsky;
sisters-in-law, Monnie Weingarden and
Libby Weingarden.
Contributions may be made to a char-
ity supporting Israel and the Jewish
people. Interment at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.
