Obituaries
Huntington Woods,
died April 1, 2011.
She was a lifelong
Detroiter, attending
Winship Jr. High and
Portner
Henry Ford High
School, where she
graduated magna cum laude in 1967.
She also graduated from Temple Israel
High School in 1967.
Her early years were shaped by
attending summer camp in Camp
Nahelu in Ortonville. She went on to
the University of Michigan, where she
graduated with honors with a B.S. in
physical therapy in 1971.
Mrs. Portner was a physical
therapist at the Detroit Rehabilitation
Institute and Mount Carmel and
Sinai hospitals of Detroit. She was
an adjunct instructor at Wayne
State University and was the clini-
cal coordinator for the placement of
physical therapists from the program
throughout the state of Michigan. She
was also a long-time member of the
Admissions Committee for the College
of Physical Therapy at Wayne State
University.
Mrs. Portner is survived by her
husband of 39 12 years, Arnold
Portner; son, Jason Portner; sister, Gail
Nemer; mother-in-law, Ethel Portner;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,
Dr. Leonard and Laurel Portner, Dr.
Bernard and Rachel Portner; nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews
and a world of friends.
She was the devoted daughter of the
late Daniel and the late Mary Steffin;
the loving daughter-in-law of the late
Samuel Portner.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

JOYCE SCHREIBMAN, 90, of Warren,
died April 10, 2011.
She was in telemarketing division at
the Detroit News.
Mrs. Schreibman is survived by
her sons and daughters-in-law, Allan
and Laura Schreibman of Warren,
Stephan and Kelly Schreibman of
Hazel Park; daughter and son-in-law,
Linda and Paul Spencer of Royal Oak;
grandchildren, Frankie, Jason and
Randy Schreibman, Justin and Josh
Schreibman.
She was the beloved wife of the late
William Bernard Schreibman; the lov-
ing sister of the late Mary Berlin and
the late Seymour Feldman.
Interment at Hebrew Memorial Park

MARGIE SHELL,
88, of Scottsdale,
Ariz., formerly of
Bloomfield Hills and
Detroit, died April 8,
2011.
She was a gradu-
ate
of Central High
Shell
School and the
University of
Michigan. She was also a lifelong
member of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek and Franklin Hills Country
Club.
Mrs. Shell is survived by her sons
and daughter-in-law, Michael Gross
and Neal and Aura Gross; daugh-
ter, Ellen Gross; brother, Herbert
Aronsson; five grandchildren. She
is also survived by Sam's children,
Richard and Cindy Shell, Dr. William
and Liz Shell; many nieces and neph-
ews; her caregiver, Donna Aleo; many
friends in Arizona and Michigan.
Mrs. Shell was the beloved wife of
the late Dr. Sam Shell; the loving sister
of the late Lois Kottler; the devoted
daughter of the late Maurice and the
late Dora Aronsson.
