"Achieving a beautiful and HEALTHY smile with braces"
• Ask the Orthodontist
In addition to routine brushing at least three times per day, all orthodontic patients
should also practice daily flossing. Since brushing and flossing with braces can be chal-
lenging for many patients, there are many tools and techniques that we can offer to make
these challenges simple to overcome. We recommend that all our patients also use a
fluoride rinse at bedtime to preserve the health and integrity of their teeth.
Parents are the -Heroes" of the orthodontist. It is the parent that must put the child
before all else, and make a financial commitment because they know whether their child
wants braces or not, it is the" right' thing to do.
Robertson-Pilder
T
aylor Renee Robertson and Robert
Asher Pilder were recently mar-
ried at Temple Israel in Columbus,
Ohio. Rabbi Misha Zinkow and Cantor Star
Trompeter officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Renee
Newkirk of Ferndale and Michael and Kim
Grimes of Warren. The groom is the son of
Wanda and Bert Pilder of West Bloomfield.
Juliana Pierce was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kristyn Jones, Michaela
Grimes and Kathryn Newkirk.
The groomsmen were Michael Pilder,
Sterling Pilder and Adam Pilder, brothers of
the groom; the ring bearer was Kevin McCluer.
Also participating in the ceremony were Ruby Pilder and Muriel Barrett,
grandmothers of the groom. A grandfather of the groom, William Barrett, was
unable to travel; and Ruben Pilder, of blessed memory, was there in spirit.
The couple will spend their honeymoon on a 10-day cruise of the Caribbean
Islands.
They will reside in Jacksonville, Fla., where the bride is senior underwriter at
Chase Bank and the groom is owner of Energy Smart Home Improvements.
Those who wear the non-removable orthodontic appliances known, as braces must guard
against stains and decay springing up around the edges of brackets and bands by paying
meticulous attention to oral hygiene.

While an electric toothbrush or waterpik may help many patients, any soft bristle
toothbrush can be used. If the plaque is properly removed, the teeth will move more effi-
ciently, remain cavity-free, and slain-free. For patients with work or school, our office also
provides a travel toothbrush, which makes it more convenient to brush when not at home.
In general, excellent orthodontic treatment can only be obtained with cooperative and
informed patients. Once orthodontic therapy begins, the patient will be expected to con-
tinue to see the family dentist for regular check-ups, dental cleanings and routine care.
Routine dental care will help ensure the best results from orthodontic therapy and allow
us to work with your dentist to create a beautiful and healthy smile to last a lifetime!!
Please call today to schedule your complimentary orthodontic consultation
at either of our locations.
