ALBERT C. MANKOFF, 94, of Osprey,
Fla., formerly of Farmington Hills, died
at his treasured Florida home on May 15,
2010•
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in
1916 and graduated with honors from
Brooklyn College with a bachelor of sci-
ence, served in the U.S. Army Medial
Corps during World War II and had
a very successful 40-year career with
Baumritter (Ethan Allen) Corp., retiring
to Florida in 1981.
His family feels that he is best
described by the words of the poet W.E.
Henley: "I am the master of my fate: I am
the captain of my sour
Mr. Mankoff was the cherished father
of Howard (Jane Reiser Williams),
Daniel (Deborah), and Douglas (Susan)
Mankoff; devoted grandfather of
Matthew, Benjamin (Akira), Max, Anna,
J.R., David, Sarah and Joshua.
He was the greatly loved husband of
the late Shirley Rodney Mankoff for 52
years, and of the late Rose Jacobs; brother
of the late Herbert Mankoff; son of the
late Meyer and the late Dora Mankoff.

PHYLLIS WERTHEIMER MARKS, 94,
of Novi, died May 16, 2010.
She was a sales executive and in the
1950s and 1960s managed more than 100
women in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana
for Easterling Silver and China Company
in Wheaton, Ill.
Mrs. Marks is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Michael and Jeannette
Wertheimer; grandchildren, Randy
Wertheimer and Nancy Katzman, Jordon
and Renee Wertheimer and Allison

Wertheimer; great-grandson, Devin
Wertheimer; also survived by James H.
Marks's daughters and their husbands,
Elizabeth and Eliot Bank and Paula and
Melvyn Kalt, their children and grand-
children.

H. Marks.
