so, we must surrender the details
(how, when, etc.) to God, trusting that
what is meant to be will unfold.

while receiving support and clear
steps to take from another human
being.

IN: What is the difference

JN: How do your beliefs fit in
with the teachings of Judaism/
Kabbalah?
RR: Both in Judaism's and in my
view is the belief that it is our respon-
sibility to contribute toward repairing
the world, or tikkun olam.
In kabbalistic terms, the word "tik-
kun" refers to the soul's purpose on
Earth (to rectify, to repair or make
whole).
On a personal level, we are here to
repair, heal and elevate our soul. On a
larger scale, we are here to contribute
toward repairing the world.
The tools for repairing the world
are found in the 613 mitzvot (divine
commands) of the Torah. As human
beings, we have been given the capac-
ity, free will and duty to serve God
through performing mitzvot with
proper intention (kavanah).
Through our own personal efforts
at tikkun olam, we strive to make this
world a better place — along with
becoming a more loving, kinder soul
— before we leave it.

between meditation and prayer?
Does prayer work?
RR: Prayer is us talking to God and/
or Spirit; mediation is us listening to
God and/or Spirit.
Prayer works if it comes from a
place of heartfelt emotion. Once we
put out our request, we must surren-
der any attachment to the outcome.
Prayers are answered in God's timing,
and the answer may or may not look
like what you had in mind. That's
where "trust" comes into play ... trust-
ing that what's in our highest and best
good will occur if we stay out of the
way.
Often what happens is that we pray
then we don't stick around to listen
for the answer or guidance (medita-
tion). But even without meditation,
your prayers are heard and eventually
answered. Meditation just gives us a
direct line to Source, so we are intui-
tively clear on what will unfold before
it has a chance to physically play out.

JN: What role does gratitude
play in our lives?
RR: When we are in a place of
gratitude and appreciation for all that
is, our hearts are open and we oper-
ate from a place of love. Gratitude
helps us direct our energy in a posi-
tive way, thus attracting additional
positive experiences into our lives.
It holds the power to speeding up all
your intended desires to manifest in
your life, mainly because you are not
resisting.

JN: Can connecting with our
spirit guides always help us in
overcoming life's difficulties?
When and how should we work
with therapists, counselors or life
coaches?
RR: Our spiritual connection is
a piece of the puzzle in navigating
our way through life's difficulties.
Remembering we are never alone and
we have all the answers within us can
serve to calm, comfort and inspire
us during challenging times. But it's
always wise to seek the help and guid-
ance of a trained professional when
we need more tangible help.
A good therapist simply helps lead
you to your own truth and inner
knowing by asking all the right ques-
tions. And some people may require
processing their thoughts out loud

JN: What is a "soul group?"
RR: Soul groups are made up of a
select amount of souls that you keep
reincarnating with (as well as rejoin in
the spirit world) to teach one another
valuable lessons and aid in each
other's soul's growth.
Souls in our soul groups are often
referred to as "soul mates': which can
be relationships that are romantic
in nature like spouses, partners, etc.,
or not romantic in nature but have a
depth and a familiarity to them more
than others.
Sometimes, these "soul-mate" rela-
tionships may be challenging for us in
attaining the highest potential growth.
As I like to say, "Marriage isn't bliss,
it's work" The same can be said for
other soul-mate relationships.

JN: As a believer in reincarna-
tion, would you like to come back
as a psychic medium in your next
life?
RR: Absolutely. I feel honored and
blessed to get to share my energy and
craft with those in need of comfort,
truth and growth. But I have a funny
feeling that's not what God has in store
for me, and I'm not going to worry
about what's next. I just want to enjoy
this ride doing the best I can each day
to serve others. ri
