MARY SHAPIRO, 95, of Franklin,
died Nov. 16, 2009.
She is survived by her daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Judi and
Bernard Mindell of Franklin,
Devorah and David Rossoff of
Israel; grandchildren, Amy Mindell
and Kevin Weinman, Debbie
and Marc Rosenblatt, Jeffrey and
Jessica Mindell, Yaacov and Rivka
Rossoff, Hava and Chaim March,
Bezalel and Penina Rossoff, Rachel
and Dov Neusbacher, Eliyahu and
Rachel Rossoff, Yosef and Yehudit
Rossoff, Avraham and Leah Rossoff,

great-grandchildren; brother-in-
law, Sheldon Martin.
Mrs. Shapiro was the beloved
wife of the late Sherman Shapiro;
the loving sister of the late Sarah
Millman, the late Lilyan Martin; the
dear sister-in-law of the late Meyer
Millman.

EDITH M. SPIRO, 97, formerly of
Southfield of White Plains, N.Y., died
Nov. 18,2009.
She served as a junior high school
teacher in Quincy Mass., before her
marriage to Rabbi Spiro, then spiri-
tual leader of the Brockton, Mass.,
Congregation Agudas Achim, in 1948.
She returned to teaching after raising
her family, working in the account-
ing departments at high schools in
Jamaica, N.Y., and Queens Village, N.Y.
After her retirement to Southfield,
she volunteered for many years in the
Southfield Public Library and in the
American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Spiro is survived by her
daughters, Pearl Spiro and Davira
S. Taragin; sons-in-law, Dr. Daniel
Morrison and Dr. Marvin M. Taragin;
grandchild, Dr. Charles S. Taragin.
She was the daughter of the late
Esther and the late David Silverman;
beloved wife of the late Rabbi Dr.
Herman F. Spiro.
