WEDDING PLANNERS The bride and her mom, Lori, who says all the work

involved "was a labor of love. We wanted a nice, simple home wedding that was

heimish, but also really wanted to entertain our guests in style."

INVITATIONS Barbara Gerstein, Bloomfield Hills; Robyn, an avid environmental-

ist, chose the invitations not only because they were pretty, but also because they

were made of partly recycled paper and were recyclable.

GOWN Off-the-rack bridesmaid dress from a store in Alexandria, Va.

FLOWERS Designed with a tropical island theme by Lori, using locally grown

flowers ordered through the Oakland County Farmers Market in Waterford and

Costco in Commerce Township; assembled by family and friends

MENU Catered by Rocky's of Northville, featuring an all-night open bar with mixed

drinks, beer and wine. Pre-ceremony: noshes of dried island fruits

(nutsonline.com ) set on hi-top tables. Post-ceremony hors d'oeuvres: crab-stuffed

mushrooms, bacon-wrapped scallops, vegetable spring rolls, shrimp and crab

cakes. Island-themed dinner buffet: shrimp skewers with citrus salad, chicken

Robyn and Chris under the chuppah made by the bride's mother, Lori.
