ROBERT M. FREEDMAN, 85, of
West Bloomfield, died March 28,
2008.
He was known to many as "Uncle
Bob." A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he
proudly served in the South Pacific.
He moved to Detroit from Akron,
Ohio, in 1948 and, with Reuben
Schulman, co-founded Alsar, a
home improvement company and a
manufacturer of building products
for over 40 years.
Mr. Freedman was a special
friend to those privileged to be
close to his heart.
He is survived by his sister and
brother-in-law, Sylvia and Joe Aftel;
stepchildren and their spouses,
Jennifer and Stephen Wade, Samuel
and Christine Garfinkel; six neph-
ews and nieces; great-nephews and
great-nieces; great-grandnephews
and great-grandnieces; stepgrand-
children and stepgreat-grandchil-
dren.
Mr. Freedman was the beloved
husband of the late Margaret Peggy
Freedman; the loving brother and
brother-in-law of the late Ann Joan
Freedman and the late Edward Pat
and the late Helen Freedman.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made
to the National Council of Jewish
Women, Meals on Wheels Program,
26400 Lahser, Suite 100, Southfield,
MI 48033, www.ncjwgds.org .

MARILYN GARSOFF, 73, of
Farmington Hills, died March 30,
2008.
She is survived by her husband,
Seymour Garsoff; son, Robert
Garsoff of Farmington Hills; broth-
ers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and
Nancy Wilner of Birmingham,
Sherwin and Harriet Wilner of
Farmington Hills; sister-in-law,
Dolores Gordon; many loving niec-
es and nephews; great-nieces and
great-nephews, great-great-nieces
and great-great-nephews.
Mrs. Garsoff was the loving
mother of the late Craig Garsoff
and the late Michael Garsoff.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment
at Hebrew Memorial Park.
