Temple Israel, a
member of its choir
and sisterhood.
Bechek
She was also a past
member of a semi-
pro basketball team. As a young girl,
she was smuggled out of Russia in a
buggy during the Russian Revolution.
Mrs. Bechek is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Henry and Linda
Bechek of Orchard Lake; daughter and
son-in-law, Arlene and Carl Provder of
Encinitas, Calif.; grandchildren, Lorrie
Bechek, Abby Bechek-Hoot, Cathy and
John Gifford; great-grandchildren,
Marcus and James Bechek, Jasmine
Hoot, Jackson and Cassidy Gifford.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Morton J. Bechek; the dear sister of the
late Sid Sarnoff.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to a char-
ity of one's choice. Arrangements by

DURBIN, 98, of Northbrook, Ill., died

March 18, 2008.
She is survived by her children,

Mrs. Durbin was the devoted wife
of the late Aaron Meltzer and the late
Irving Durbin; mother of the late Dr.
Nelson Sklar; sister of the late Hy and
the late Anne Fidelman, the late Irving
Fidelman.
Interment at Waldheim Cemetery

in Illinois. Contributions may be

32 years, she was a
teacher in Detroit.

She was the dear sister of the late

An accounting and tax agent, she
