Attorney
And Mentor

ack Eserow
felt it was a
privilege to
practice law. At the time
of his death on April 10,
2007, at age 92, he was
of counsel to Leikin,
Ingber and Winters PC.
Mr. Eserow, of
Farmington Hills,
enjoyed working with
Jack Eserow
younger lawyers, many
of whom considered
him to be their mentor. He took
great pride in their achievements. As
counsel for insurance companies like
Auto-Owners, Farm Bureau, Michigan
Basic Property and North Pointe, he
developed many lasting friendships
and touched the lives of those he came
in contact with.
Mr. Eserow graduated from the
University of Detroit Law School
in 1938 and was a member of the
State Bar of Michigan for 69 years.
He belonged to the Detroit Bar
Association, American Bar Association
and the Michigan Trial Lawyers.
An avid golfer, he was a founding
member of Tam O'Shanter Country
Club in West Bloomfield and took
great pride as it developed and grew
into one of the area's fine courses. Mr.
Eserow was a member of Temple Israel
and Perfection Lodge. He received a
50-year membership award in 1997.
In 2006, Mr. Eserow received the
Donor of the Year Award from the
United States Veteran's Association
on behalf of GI's fighting in Iraq and
Afghanistan. Earlier in his career, he
owned and operated Detroit Collision
Works along with his father, Sam
Eserow.

Son Ken Eserow called
his dad "the best father
anyone could ever hope
for. Dad led by example,
always encouraging
his family to do the
right thing. He treated
people with kindness
and respect whether it
was the chairman of the
board or the little guy on
the street.
"Dad was trusted
and admired;' Ken said. "People
were drawn to him because they felt
comfortable with him and the sound
advice he gave. His legacy will be that
of a gentleman lawyer who solved cli-
ent disputes with fairness and dignity.
He will be remembered as a loving
family man who made a difference in
the quality of people's lives. He was a
man of honor and integrity"
Mr. Eserow is survived by his
daughter and son-in-law, Kenneth
Eserow of Farmington Hills; daughter
and son-in-law, Eileen and Dr. Don
Klein of Bloomfield Hills; grand-
children, Cindy (the late Joe) Cohen,
Steven (Shelly) Klein, Alissa (Bruce)
Klein-Krause, Jordan Eserow and Evan
Escrow; great-grandchildren, Alec,
Cassidy, Haley, Ashley and Ryan.
He was the beloved husband of the
late Florence Eserow; brother of the
late Sidney Eserow and the late Etta
Eserow Pastor.
