At the time of his death on April 10, 2007, at age 92, he was of counsel to Leikin, Ingber and Winters PC. Mr. Eserow, of Farmington Hills, enjoyed working with Jack Eserow younger lawyers, many of whom considered him to be their mentor. He took great pride in their achievements. As counsel for insurance companies like Auto-Owners, Farm Bureau, Michigan Basic Property and North Pointe, he developed many lasting friendships and touched the lives of those he came in contact with. Mr. Eserow graduated from the University of Detroit Law School in 1938 and was a member of the State Bar of Michigan for 69 years. He belonged to the Detroit Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Michigan Trial Lawyers. An avid golfer, he was a founding member of Tam O'Shanter Country Club in West Bloomfield and took great pride as it developed and grew into one of the area's fine courses. Mr. Eserow was a member of Temple Israel and Perfection Lodge. He received a 50-year membership award in 1997. In 2006, Mr. Eserow received the Donor of the Year Award from the United States Veteran's Association on behalf of GI's fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Earlier in his career, he owned and operated Detroit Collision Works along with his father, Sam Eserow. Son Ken Eserow called his dad "the best father anyone could ever hope for. Dad led by example, always encouraging his family to do the right thing. He treated people with kindness and respect whether it was the chairman of the board or the little guy on the street. "Dad was trusted and admired;' Ken said. "People were drawn to him because they felt comfortable with him and the sound advice he gave. His legacy will be that of a gentleman lawyer who solved cli- ent disputes with fairness and dignity. He will be remembered as a loving family man who made a difference in the quality of people's lives. He was a man of honor and integrity" Mr. Eserow is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kenneth Eserow of Farmington Hills; daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Dr. Don Klein of Bloomfield Hills; grand- children, Cindy (the late Joe) Cohen, Steven (Shelly) Klein, Alissa (Bruce) Klein-Krause, Jordan Eserow and Evan Escrow; great-grandchildren, Alec, Cassidy, Haley, Ashley and Ryan. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence Eserow; brother of the late Sidney Eserow and the late Etta Eserow Pastor. Interment at the Hebrew Memorial Park Cemetery.
