RACHEL MILLER, 92, of West
Bloomfield, died Dec. 29, 2006.
She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, David and Janelle
Miller of Bloomfield Hills, Alex and
Marlene Miller of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Stephanie and Jay Sinder,
Suzanne and Corey Jacoby, Jeffrey
and Emilia Miller, David and Laurie

and Abigail Sinder, Emily, Kadin and

Miller. She was the beloved wife of the
late Max Miller; devoted mother of the
late Marcia Blume Amhowitz; loving

MICHAEL M. MITCHELL, 90, of
Oak Park, died Dec. 23, 2006.
He is survived by his late wife's
children, Marta Heitman and Daniel
M. Smith; nieces and nephews, Wade

Larry (Karen) Gora, Trevor (Marilyn)
Gora, Dr. Gina (Dr. Howard Dworkin)
Gora, Steven (Judy) Mikich, Tony (Kim)
Mikich, Eric (Michelle) Mikich, Suzanne
Magyari, Karen Friedrichs, Donald
(Brigitte) Polcyn; great-niece and great-
nephews, Edward, Joseph, Jason and
Nicole; many other loving family mem-
bers and friends. He was the beloved
husband of the late Martha Mitchell;
brother of the late Emile Mikich, the late
Hildegarde Gora and the late Martha
Polcyn.

JOAN PLOTNIK, of West Bloomfield,
died Dec. 31, 2006. She was a clinical
social worker for 30 years. Previously an
elementary school teacher, she received
her LMSW from Wayne State University.
As a licensed master of social work, she
became a licensed marriage and fam-
ily therapist and a certified addiction
counselor. A past president of Detroit
Women of Alpha Omega, she was also a
lifelong member of Temple Israel.
Mrs. Plotnik is survived by her
husband, Dr. Sheldon Plotnik of West
Bloomfield; children, Dr. Ronald and Joy
Plotnik of Pittsford, N.Y., Carolann and
Dr. Robert Goode of West Bloomfield,

Dr. James and Alison Plotnik of
Scottsdale, Ariz., Nancy and Lawrence
Koplow of Scottsdale; grandchildren,
Allison Plotnik, Benjamin Plotnik, Erin
Goode, Jamie Goode, Randi Goode,
Kailie Plotnik, Samantha Plotnik, Paige
Koplow. She was the beloved daughter
of the late Benjamin and the late Lillian
Lewis; dear sister of the late Suzanne
Klasmer.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

EVELYN ROSS, 82, of Dayton, Ohio,
died Dec. 30, 2006. She was a 30-year
volunteer at Covenant House in Dayton
and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Ross is survived by her chil-
dren, Barbara and Ronald Solomon
of Cincinnati, Ohio, Debra and Arthur
Altman of Dayton, Michael and Cindy
Ross of Westerville, Ohio, Marce and
Michael Epstein of Mason, Ohio;
grandchildren, Scott Solomon and his
fiancee, Rachel Spitzen, Stephanie and
Bill Kirtland, Aaron and Cassi Solomon,

and Suzy Silverstein of Novi; daugh-
ter, Rona Silverstein of Santa Monica;
grandchildren, Kimberley, Scott,
Shoshana, Miriam, Yosef, Jenna and
Kayli; sister, Mrs. Harriet Friedman. She
was the beloved wife of the late Herbert
Silverstein; beloved daughter of the late
Nathan and Edith Muskovitz.
