JOAN PLOTNIK, of West Bloomfield,
died Dec. 31, 2006. She was a clinical
social worker for 30 years. Previously an
elementary school teacher, she received
her LMSW from Wayne State University.
As a licensed master of social work, she
became a licensed marriage and fam-
ily therapist and a certified addiction
counselor. A past president of Detroit
Women of Alpha Omega, she was also a
lifelong member of Temple Israel.
Mrs. Plotnik is survived by her
husband, Dr. Sheldon Plotnik of West
Bloomfield; children, Dr. Ronald and Joy
Plotnik of Pittsford, N.Y., Carolann and
Dr. Robert Goode of West Bloomfield,
Dr. James and Alison Plotnik of
Scottsdale, Ariz., Nancy and Lawrence
Koplow of Scottsdale; grandchildren,
Allison Plotnik, Benjamin Plotnik, Erin
Goode, Jamie Goode, Randi Goode,
Kailie Plotnik, Samantha Plotnik, Paige
Koplow. She was the beloved daughter
of the late Benjamin and the late Lillian
