For his mitzvah project, he donated
his hair to Locks for Love and vol-
unteered his time at Ronald
McDonald House.
Sara Brittany Smoler will celebrate
her bat mitzvah at Temple Israel
during Havdalah services Saturday,
Sept. 17. She is the daughter of Gail
and Dr. Bruce Smoler and the sister
of Zachary. Her grandparents are
Gail and Dr.
Eugene Smoler
and Renee and
Burton J. Field.
Sara is an honor
student at West
Hills Middle
School in
Bloomfield Hills.
She volunteered at
Smoler
Temple Israel's
Purim carnival and
knit chemo caps for cancer patients.
Also as part of her mitzvah experi-
ence, she helped at the Celiac Walk
to raise funds to find a cure for celi-
ac disease.
Jordan Jerome Taxon, son of Morse
N. Taxon and Ilana F. Wolfson, will
become a bar mitzvah at Butzel
Conference Center, Ortonville,
Saturday, Sept. 17. He is the brother
of Esther and the grandson of Gloria
and the late Rabbi Jordan Taxon and
the late Sam and Esther Wolfson.
Jordan is also the 'adopted' grandson
of Evelyn and the late Jack Schreier.
