WALTER HOLLAND, 80, of Ann
Arbor and former longtime resident of
Traverse City, died Aug. 28, 2005.
He is survived by his children, Laura
Holland, Miriam Joling (Scott), and
Steven Holland; sister, Faye Berch
(Saul); grandchildren, Evan and Casey
Joling, Andrew Nadel. He was the
husband of the late Frances; brother of
the late Sarah Whitehorn.
A graveside memorial service is
planned for Sunday, Sept. 18, at 12:30
p.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in
Traverse City, followed by a reception
at the Dennos Museum at
Northwestern Michigan College.

TILLIE JACKSON, 92, of West

Bloomfield, died Aug. 31, 2005.
She is survived by her daughter,
Carol Mervis of West Bloomfield; sis-
ter, Sadie Hofstein of Brooklyn;. niece
and nephew, Trudy Cooper and
Sheldon Hofstein. She was the beloved
wife of the late Sydney Jackson;
mother-in-law of the late Stephen
Mervis.
Interment in Farmingdale, N.Y.
