DR. MORRIS FRUMIN, 83, of
Bingham Farms, died April 23, 2005.
A psychiatrist, Dr. Frumin began as a
chemist and then went into the build-
ing business. He then went back to
school and became a psychiatrist. His
interest in health care prompted him
to run for U.S. Congress in 1996.
Dr. Frumin is survived by his wife,
Natalie "Tommy" Frumin of Bingham
Farms; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr.
Howard and Leslee Frumin of San
Juan Capistrano, California, Dr. Fred
and Leslie Frumin, Matthew and Lena
Frumin of Washington, D.C.; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Marian and Tom
Allen of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandchil-
dren, Michael and Erica Frumin, Ben
and Aaron Frumin, Jacob, Sam and
Hope Allen, Alice, Joseph and Zoe
Frumin. He was the brother of the late
Herman Frumin.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to a charity of one's choice.

MANUEL E. GORMAN, 91, of
Aventura, Fla., and Bloomfield Hills,
died April 10, 2005. He had been a
partner in General Auto Parts in
Pontiac until he retired in 1970. He
was an avid tennis player and swimmer
and member of Town & Country Club
in Southfield. He loved to play the
piano. With his wife, Estelle, he was an
active member of the Friendly Unit.
Mr. Gorman is survived by his
beloved wife, Estelle; loving daughter
and son-in-law, Gloria and Bruce
Colton of Bloomfield Hills; loving son
and daughter-in-law, Ashley and Tama

ANITA SHAWMUT HEARSHEN,
85 of Sarasota, Fla., died March 31,
2005. She was a speaker for numerous
Israeli educational and philanthropic
organizations and a longtime employ-
ee of Israel Bonds. She was also a
member of the Speakers Bureau for
the United Jewish Appeal.
Mrs. Hearshen is survived by her
husband, former Detroiter Max
Hearshen; sisters, Shaloma (Dr.
Howard) Lessner, Esther (Aaron)
Friedman; daughters and son-in-law
Harriet and Charles Weiss, Stephanie
Osrin; grandchildren Ron (Dalia)
Sivan, Anat (Michael) Hoffman, Noah
(Alon) Orion, Yoav (Sharon (Weiss),
Calanit (Chris) Hayes, Orly Osrin; 14
great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ann
Hearshen; brother-in law, Isadore
(Marci) Shrodeck.
Internment in Sarasota. A memorial
service in Sarasota is planned for June.

LEONARD ISRAEL, 87, of Peoria,
Ariz., died April 23, 2005. An electri-
cal contractor, he was an active sup-
porter of Jewish Federation, Hadassah
of Ann Arbor and ORT of Ann Arbor.
Mr. Israel is survived by daughters,
Geri-Ann Israel of New York City,
N.Y., Michele Israel of Ann Arbor; sis-
ter, Rosella Zavell of Beachwood,
Ohio. He was the beloved husband for
57 years of the late Evelyn Israel;
devoted brother of the late Max Israel
and the late Ann Jacobs; cherished
brother-in-law of the late Charles
Zavell, the late Sophie Israel and the
late Emanuel Jacobs.
Interment at Arborcrest Cemetery.
