ROYAL BARNETT, 99, of Ft.

Lauderdale, Fla., died March 6, 2005.
He is survived by his daughters and
sons-in-law, Arlene and Raymond
Colbert of Tamarac, Fla., Peggy and
Robert Mitteldorf of Los Angeles;
grandchildren, Edward (Judy)
Colbert, Robin Orenstein, Marcie
(Ken) Freed, Brian (Tracy)
Mitteldorf; great-grandchildren,
Stephanie, Marissa, Sara, Rebecca,
Miles, Samuel and Ariella; great-
great-grandson, Eric. He was the
beloved husband of the late Sarah
Barnett.

SYLVIA BERNATH, 79, of

Farmington Hills, died Feb. 28,
2005. A teaching technician for chil-
dren with special needs, Mrs. Bernath
was also a member of Na'amat.
She is survived by daughters and
sons-in-law, Renee and Robert
Swanson of Lansing, Aspen Helene
and Tim Bernath-Plaisted of

Laingsburg, Mich.; grandchildren,
Julie and Joseph Waterbury, Carey,
Shandra and Jacy; great-grandchil-
dren, Liam and Mardi Waterbury;
brother and sister-in-law, Abe and
Wilma Katz of West Bloomfield;
brother-in-law, Stewart Bernarth of
Farmington Hills. She was the
beloved wife for 44 years of the late
Leonard Bernath; devoted sister of
the late Isadore Katz.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

Aventura, Fla., formerly of Detroit,
died March 1, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila
Dishell; son, Marc Galkin; daughter,

and brother-in-law, Gloria and Lewis
Cooke of Livonia. He was the dear
brother of the late Miriam Techner
and the late Beverly Kamins; loving
son of the late Abe and the late Ida
Dishell.

ELLA DZIALOWSKE, 77, of Oak

Park, died March 2, 2005.
She is survived by her daughters
and sons-in-law, Celia and Rabbi
Shmuel Moeller of New Hempstead,

Bechhofer of Passaic, N.J.; sister,
Henrietta Silver of London, England;
many grandchildren; one great-
grandchild. She was the beloved wife
of the late Nissi Dzialowski.

DIAN S. FOX, 72, of Farmington

Hills, died March 2, 2005. She was
a social worker at the first Jewish
Home for Aged in Detroit and a
teacher for 30 years of elementary
grades in the Detroit public schools.
A graduate of Wayne State
University, she did post-graduate
work and attended master's classes at
Mary-grove College.
Mrs. Fox is survived by her beloved
sister, Suzanne Chessler of
Farmington Hills; many loving fami-
ly members and friends. She was the
beloved wife of the late Dr. Leonard
Fox; cherished daughter of the late
Benjamin and the late Bella Chessler.
Interment at the Beth Tefilo
Emanuel Cemetery. Contributions

WILLIAM B. GILLES, 84, formerly

SIDNEY R. COHEN, 77, of Grand

Rapids, died March 2, 2005. He was
an attorney and a graduate of Wayne
State University Law School.

Morton Cohen, the late Abraham
Cohen, the late Ruth Cohen.

in the Bronx, he spent much of his
youth in the Detroit area. He attend-
ed Detroit Central High School and
would have graduated with the class
of '38 had his family not relocated to
the East Coast prior to his senior
year.
After graduating
from Wayne State
University, he
proudly served his
country as a lieu-
tenant junior grade
in the U.S. Navy
during World War
II. He was a skip-
per of an LCT
watercraft during
the D-Day inva-
sion of Normandy, France. After the
war, he enrolled at the Pennsylvania
College of Optometry in
Philadelphia, receiving a doctor of
optometry in 1952. While attending
optometry school, he earned some of
his tuition costs by working as an
Arthur Murray dance instructor. He
