SOL ATKINS, 84, of Sarasota, Fla.,
NORMAN CONN, 78, of West
formerly of Detroit, died Nov. 8,
2004, his 62nd wedding anniversary.
A real estate broker in Florida, Mr.
Atkins was a World War II Navy vet-
eran and was active in several veteran
associations.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian
Atkins; daughter, Barbara Samuels of
Sarasota; son and daughter-in-law,
Bruce and Maria Atkins of Sarasota;
sister, Lillian Meyers of West
Bloomfield; brother and sister-in-
law, Norman and Charlotte Atkins
of Los Angeles; grandchildren,
Annie, Jennifer and Monica Atkins;
great-granddaughter, Ginger Faith.
He was the beloved brother-in-law of
the late Leonard Meyers.
Full military service and interment
held at a military cemetery in Flori-

Detroiter of Hertzlia, Israel, died
Oct. 17, 2004. He was the founder
and owner of International
Communications in Tel Aviv.
He is survived by his daughters and
sons-in-law, Dana and Amit Astrog of
Tel Aviv, Yael and Oz Shahar of East
Stroudberg, Pa.; grandchildren,
Maayan Shahar, Gal Astrog.

MILDRED E. HUTTO, 94, of
Beverly Hills, died Nov. 12, 2004.
She was a head librarian at
Hamtramck Public Library. She was
also in the Peace Corps in Korea, a
member of Hadassah, a member of
Tucson, Ariz., died Nov. 3, 2004. He
was a graduate of Cass Technical
High School and Wayne State
University. He was in the Army Air
Corps during World War II, serving
in the Flying Tigers in China; he
retired from the Air Force as a lieu-
tenant colonel. Mr. Kempner was
employed for 20 years as an investi-
gator with the city of Detroit
Human Rights Department. He was
also a long-standing member of the
Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Kempner is survived by his
loving wife of 60 years, Mary
(Tanenbaum) Kempner; daughters
and son-in-law, Sally Sklar of
Linden, Andrea Blake of Oak Park,
Janice and Alec Morgan of
Birmingham; son and daughter-in-
law, Steven and Lisa Kempner of
Royal Oak; grandchildren, Ian Sklar,
Raphael, Ari, Miriam Blake,
Abraham, Julia Morgan, Zachary
Kempner.
