No Jew Is Ever Alone

Youth at Congregation B'nai Moshe,
where he made friends that lasted
throughout his life.
For recreation, he enjoyed shopping
at flea markets. He did it many years
before it was considered chic, said his
sister.
His mother remembered his open-
ness and his readiness to buy some-
thing at a flea market just to please a
loved one or friend.
She recalled his thoughtfulness. "He
bought me a necklace with a Jewish
star and diamonds because he thought
I would like it. I wear it all the time
— I treasure it the most." It was his
last gift to her.
About nine years ago, Mr. Davis
was diagnosed with cancer and was
given only five to six months to live.
"Mark moved to California because
he didn't want me to see him suffer,"
she said. But miraculously, he recov-
ered from the cancer and also sur-

vived heart surgery. "Thank God, he
got more time," his mother said.
Mark Davis is survived by his
mother, Friedel Davis of West
Bloomfield; partner, Peter Borovich;
brother and sister-in-law, Zev and
Miriam Davis of Israel; sister and
brother-in-law, Eileen and Bill Mumy
of Los Angeles.
He was the loving son of the late
Irving Davis.
Interment was at Beth Tefilo
Emanuel Cemetery. Contributions
may be made to Boys Town
Jerusalem, 12 W. 31st Street, Suite
300, New York, NY 10001.
