The Foreigner
Directed by Scott Schwartz and star-
ring Matthew Broderick, this farce is
about a shy British man who pretends
not to know any English while vacation-
ing at a fishing lodge in rural Georgia.
The guests assume he can't understand
them, and the Englishman winds up
hearing some terrible secrets.

The Good Body
Playwright Eve Ensler (The Vagina
Monologues) explores yet another
women's issue as she delves into the
notion of changing the way you look,
no matter what your background.
Employing Botox, plastic surgery or liv-
ing under a burka, women of all races
and religions are often unhappy with
their appearance. Individual narratives
include women representing a variety of
cultures.

Twelve Angry Men
Based on the American courtroom
classic written in the 1950s by Reginald
Rose, this drama centers around a jury
deliberation following the trial of a boy
accused of killing his father. While the
jury, composed of 12 men, has to deter-
mine the fate of the boy, one man holds
out against conviction. Meanwhile
doubts are raised and the American judi-
cial system is brought to question.
Cast members include Philip Bosco,
Larry Bryggman, Mark Blum and Peter
Friedman.

A Second-Hand Memory
Written and directed by Woody Allen,
this Off-Broadway play is set in the
1950s. In keeping with Allen's style, the
plot is not being disclosed.

Secret Agent
The world premiere of a stage adapta-
tion of Joseph Conrad's chilling terror-
ism novel written in 1906, originally set
in London and moved to post-Sept. 11
New York, this play, adapted and direct-
ed by Jewish playwright David
Willinger, explores the often paradoxical
roots of terrorism.

Pacific Overtures
With music and lyrics by Stephen
Sondheim and book by John Weidman,
this Broadway revival is about the
Westernization of Japan in 1853 from a
Japanese perspective. It's performed in
English with all Asian-American actors.

Di Kaprizne Kale (A Novel Romance)
Presented by the Folksbiene Yiddish
Theater, this comedy with songs, about
a romance novel-obsessed woman whose
pursuit of the ideal husband leads to dis-
aster, premiered in Romania in 1877
and was presented in New York in 1882.
It hasn't been performed on the New
York stage in 122 years. Adapted from
the original play by Abraham
Goldfaden, the father of Yiddish theater,
this production is directed by Allen
Lewis Rickman.
