Southfield, died June 14, 2004. She
was a retired librarian and head of
the catalog department at the
Detroit Public Library. She was also
a graduate of Wellesley College with
a master's degree in library science
from the University of Michigan, a
member of the Birmingham Temple
and was very active with the League
of Women Voters and American
Field Service.
Mrs. Gittlen is survived by her
sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and
Laura Gittlen of Mexico, Dr.
William Gittlen and Sarah Campbell
of California, Ilan Gittlen and Janet
Fry of Ann Arbor, John Gittlen of
Nevada; grandchildren, Seth, Jacob,
Leah, Micha, Jerusha, Mia, Lani,
Ariella and Nathaniel. She was the
beloved wife of the late Maier
"Mike" Gittlen; dear sister of the
late Larry Golden.

GLAZEK, 82, of Highland, Mich.,

LOUIS BEN HEISLER, 93, former-
ly of Omaha, Neb., of Skokie, Ill.,
died May 27, 2004. He was born in
Czechoslovakia and emigrated to the
United States in 1937. He served in
the Army for four years in the
Pacific Theatre. For 37 years, Mr.
Heisler was a salesman and manager
at the Nebraska Furniture Mart.
He is survived by his wife of 58
years, Eva Heisler; daughter and son-
in-law, Susan and Howard Stein of
Skokie, Ill.; sons and daughters-in-
law, Dr. Norman and Alison Heisler
of Overland Park, Kan., Dr. Sidney
Heisler and Dr. Sarah Zamari of
West Bloomfield; grandchildren,
Yoni Heisler, Tami Heisler, Daphna
Heisler, Shira Heisler, Sima Stein-
Neiger, David Stein, Alex Heilsler,
Zachary Heisler, Ilana Heisler.

EMANUEL JACOBS, 90, of Oak
Park, died June 15, 2004.
He is survived by his son and

was the beloved husband of the late
Ann Jacobs.

BENJAMIN KAPLAN, 87, of
Lauderhill, Fla., formerly of
Margate, Fla., and North Bellmore,
N.Y., died June 10, 2004. He served
as president of American Food
Brokers Inc. and president of the
New York Candy Club. For 15 years,
he chaired the United Jewish Appeal
for the city of Margate.
Mr. Kaplan is survived by his lov-
ing wife of 57 years, Helen of
Lauderhill; sons and daughters-in-
law, Dr. Bruce and Stacey Kaplan of
West Bloomfield, Donald and Dori
Kaplan of Coral Springs, Fla.; grand-
children, Jared, Ryan, Alexandra and
Caroline.
Private services were held in
Florida. Contributions may be made
