Rabbi Loss said Mr. Tobias was a gen-
tle and "truly kind man" who rabbis and
community leaders often consulted.
"In every aspect of his life, whether it
was his business career or the agencies
where he was actively involved, his lead-
ership was defined by quiet guidance and
sound principles," said Rabbi Loss.
Mr. Tobias is survived by his wife,
Evelyne; daughters and son-in-law,
Sherry Mitteldorf of Palm Beach
Gardens, Fla., and Carole and John
Nannes of Bethesda, Md.; grandchildren,
Bunny (Elliot) Berman, Susan (Rob)
Koch, Marji (Troy) Engle, Jennifer
Nannes and Steven Nannes; great-grand-
children, Mallory and Michael Berman,
Morgan and Justin Koch, and Austin and
Parker Engle.
Mr. Tobias was the father-in-law of the
late Marvin Mitteldorf.
Interment was in Florida. Contribu-
