with offices in Troy and Las Vegas, he
practiced business law and was, as Rabbi
Yedwab called him, a "super-lawyer.
Selfless with his time and resources,
he often worked pro-bono cases
because, the rabbi said, "his greatest
pleasure in life truly was helping other
people."
He took on other people's problems
like they were his own," said Mr.
Lipson's niece Risa Heller of
Washington, D.C. "He would do any-
thing for anyone. He left a truly amaz-
ing legacy of how he affected people's
lives."
Rabbi Yedwab called him "the rock,"
the person who could do things every-
one else thought were impossible.
"His determined spirit, combined
with a natural charisma, made him
something special, an incredible man,"
Rabbi Yedwab said.

of the late Morris and Molly Medwed
and the late Hersh-Leib Schneiderman.

ZELDA KEIL MILLER, 88, of

Southfield, died Aug. 8, 2003. She
was a pianist and piano teacher.

grandchildren,
Dhyana Kuhl, Maral

grandchildren. She was the beloved
wife of the late Sidney Miller and the
late Albert Keil; loving mother the
late Teresa Keil.
Interment at Beth El Memorial

ROSE NAFTALIE, 88, formerly of

Mr. Lipson earned his undergraduate
degree from Michigan State University,
his law degree from Detroit College of
Law and a master's in taxation from
New York University. He was an active
member of Temple Israel and belonged
to Tam O'Shanter Country Club, both
in West Bloomfield.
Mr. Lipson is survived by his wife,
Debra Lipson; sons, Mark, Kevin and
Brian; mother, Honora Lipson of West
Bloomfield; brother and sister-in-law,
Kenneth M. and Nancy Lipson of West
Bloomfield; sister and brother-in-law,
Ronna and Harvey Heller of West
Bloomfield; father-in-law and mother-
in-law, Sam and Sylvia Deutsch; and sis-
ters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lori and
Rod Hoover and David and Susan
Deutsch. He was the beloved son of the
late Alex Lipson.
Interment was at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to

Southfield of Hallandale Beach, Fla.,
died July 30, 2003.
She is survived by her beloved hus-
band of 54 years, "Fred" (Manfred);
daughter, Evelyn; grandchildren, Tami,
Ronen and Shira of Israel.
Interment at Beth David Memorial
Gardens in Hollywood, Fla.
Contributions may be made to a char-

HADASSAH YANICH PLAUT, 82,
former Detroiter. She had been the
executive director of the Center for
Jewish History in Manhattan. A pas-
sionate Zionist, Mrs. Plaut was an
active member of HaShomer
HaTza'eer as a teen. She and her hus-
band, Rabbi Walter H. Plaut, served as
the first directors of Camp Herzl in
Webster, Wis., the first Zionist camp
in the United States. The Plauts lived
in Israel from 1950-1952, moving
then to Cedar Rapids. From 1956-
1967, the family lived in Great Neck,
N.Y., where Rabbi Plaut served
Temple Emanuel. In 1967, Mrs. Plaut,
recently widowed, made aliyah to
Jerusalem, but returned to the United
States in 1997.
Mrs. Plaut is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Yehudah and
Aviva, Carmi and Beth; grandchildren,
Ma'ayan, Ben and Jonas; brother,
Joseph Yanich. She was the wife of the
late Rabbi Walter Plaut.
Interment outside Jerusalem.
