FRED GINSBERG,
81, of Bloomfield
Hills, died June 18,
2003. An alumnus of
Central High School,
he graduated from
the University of
Michigan and then
served as a Navy offi-

during World War II.
He was wounded and retired from the
Navy after rehabilitation at Great Lakes
Naval Hospital.
Mr. Ginsberg was a steel executive,
having founded American Steel Corp.
He was also a traveler and visited six
continents and made visits to Easter
Island, the North Pole and Antarctica.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lane
Ginsberg; sons and daughter-in-law,
Michael Ginsberg of Ann Arbor, Scott
and Deborah Lasser of Colorado;
