After immigrating to the United States
in 1958, she continued her commit-
ment to Judaism by becoming a
Hebrew school teacher, teaching first
grade for 25 years in Michigan and then
in Florida. Her greatest love was her
family. Her devotion to caring for her
husband, children, parents, brother, sis-
ter, nieces and nephews is what gave her
the greatest joy and her ability to
express that joy was an inspiration.
Mrs. Jedwab is survived by her
beloved husband, Shmuel; children,
Ron and Linda, Orlie and Angus;
grandchildren, Michael and Jessica;
brother, Harvey Kroll; sister and broth-
er-in-law, Cypora and Dave Pink; many
nieces and nephews.

HERMAN KAPLAN, 76, of West
Bloomfield, died June 20, 2003. He
was a construction executive and a
member of Tam O'Shanter Country
Club.
Mr. Kaplan is survived by his wife of
53 years, Shirley Kaplan; daughters and
son-in-law, Karen Kaplan Scott and
William Scott of California, Susan
Kaplan of Birmingham; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Richard and Deborah
Kaplan of West Bloomfield; grandchil-
dren, Benjamin, Kellie and Julie
Kaplan; sister and brother-in-law, Edith
and Harold Lax of Farmington Hills;
sister-in-law, Frances Kaplan. He was
the dear brother of the late Phillip
Kaplan.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Arrangements by
Ira Kaufman Chapel.

ALAN S. KOHN, 70, of Farmington
Hills, died June 10, 2003.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Phyllis Kohn; sons and daughters-in-

Levitt. She was the beloved wife of the
late Roy Levitt; loving sister of the late

the late Morris Rosen, the late Florence
Rosen, the late Sylvia Ramras.
