source of income and are unem-
ployed or underemployed can get
emotional support and vocational
assistance to find immediate
employment through the JVS
Women to Work Program.
A free information meeting to
learn about the program is sched-
uled 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday, March
11, at JVS, 29699 Southfield Road,
Southfield.
The meeting will provide an
overview of Women to Work, which
helps individuals identify their skills
and career and educational goals.
The informational meeting will out-
line the services available through
the program, which include job
referral and placement assistance,
resume writing, effective interview-
ing and group support.
Women to Work is funded by the
Michigan Department of Career
Development. The program is
administered by JVS.

As a sign of solidarity in these emer-
gency times, members of Yad Ezra's
board of directors and staff have
decided to contribute individually to
Yad Eliezer.
The apolitical humanitarian organi-
zation, founded in 1978, assists
impoverished families in Israel. It pro-
vides food, medical care and financial
assistance.
Programs include monthly food
packages, prepared Shabbat meals,
holiday meals, a wedding fund, an
orphans fund, emergency grants, a big
brother program, furniture distribu-
tion, moral support for the ill and a
job training program.
Checks made out to American
Friends of Yad Eliezer are being col-
lected at Yad Ezra, 2850 W 11 Mile
Road, Berkley, MI 48072. Checks
accumulated by Feb. 28 at Yad Ezra
will be mailed together with a cover
letter to Yad Eliezer. Checks may also
