the late Mikhail Goldshteyn.

LEO HOFFMANN, 66, of
Southfield, died Oct. 26, 2002. Prior
to his retirement 15 years ago, he was
an equipment leasing, collection and
credit supervisor for Dana
Corporation.
Mr. Hoffmann is survived by his
wife, Joan Hoffmann; sons and
daughter-in-law, Loren and Karin
Hoffmann of Royal Oak, Jaime
Hoffmann of Sterling Heights; grand-
daughter, Rebeccah Hoffmann; sister
and brother-in-law, Phyliss and Joel
Dinhoffer of Massachusetts; brother-
in-law and sister-in-law, Samuel and
Rosemary Eichenfield.
Interment in New York.
Contributions may be made to the
Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Arrangements by Ira Kaufman
Chapel.

ETTA KAPLAN, 90, of West
Bloomfield, died Oct. 23, 2002.
She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Morrie and Barbara
Kaplan of Farmington Hills, Milton
and Betty Kaplan of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Kiley Kaplan, Rick
(Melanie) Kaplan, Howard Kaplan,
Janet (David) Swimmer, Barbara
(Larry) Machlis and Rochelle Kaplan;
great-grandchildren, Hunter, Allison,
Noah, Jordan and Zachary. She was
the beloved wife of the late Harry
Kaplan.
Graveside services were held at
Oakview Cemetery. Contributions
may be made to Na'amat USA, 25900
Greenfield Rd. Suite 205D, Oak Park,
MI 48237. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.

PAUL KASANDER
(KACZANDER), 80, former
Detroiter of Sand Key, Fla., died Oct.
17, 2002. In 1942, he won a national
talent contest, which was broadcast
on the Fred Allen show. He then
joined the Army Air Force, Special
Services Division, during World War
II.
Having earned a master's degree in
education, Mr. Kasander taught
speech and broadcasting at Wayne
state University from 1946-1950. He
was also the director of the Wayne
State University Theater of the Air,
