Jewish Institute's "Exploring
the Holocaust" course
showed up to class with their
pens, notebooks and parents.
The group of teens typically views
films and discusses issues surrounding
the Holocaust, but the May 9 pro-
gram with their parents at the
Bloomfield Township Public Library
included several guest speakers:
George Laksberger of West

Bloomfield, who is a Holocaust sur-
vivor; Dr. Charles Silow of
Huntington Woods, president of
CHAIM (Children of Holocaust
Survivors Association in Michigan);
and Don Cohen of West Bloomfield,
a consultant specializing in Jewish
issues and Israel advocacy.
Oak Park-based MJI's weekly
evening program for teens is offered
for high school or college credit. Co-
sponsors-are the Agency for Jewish
Education of Metropolitan Detroit
and National Conference of
Synagogue Youth. E
