ESTHER GOTTESMAN,90, former
Detroiter of Tamarac, Fla., died May
9. She was a founding member of
Congregation Beth Achim and a long-
time, active member and officer of
Shalom Auxiliary Jewish War Veterans.
She also worked for many years at the
American Savings Bank in Southfield.
Mrs. Gottesman is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Gere and
Harvey Freedman of Tamarac; son
and daughter-in-law, Dr. Max and
Beverly Gottesman of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Mary Beth
and Cantor Neil Berris of Commack,
Long Island, Blair and Amy Freedman
of Chicago, Jennifer and Craig
Simmons, Dr. Lorne Gottesman and
Amy Gottesman of West Bloomfield;
great-grandchildren, David and Rayna
Berris, Blake Simmons; brother, Dr.
Sam Sugar of Lexington, Ky.; sister
and brother-in-law, Marian and Ben
Saperstein of Farmington Hills. For
61 years, she was the loving wife of
the late Roland R. Gottesman.

ARNOLD LEONARD KAUFMAN,
78, of West Bloomfield, died April 30.
He was the owner and operator of
Carco Steel Products Company and was
active in the steel business for over 50
years. He was a World War II veteran
and was also active with the Jewish
Federation for many years. Recently,
Mr. Kaufman was a volunteer for Jewish
Social Services, teaching immigrants to
become citizens and tutoring children in
reading skills.
Mr. Kaufman is survived by his wife,
Iris Kaufman; daughters and son-in-law,
Stacey K and Mark Levy of Florida,
Jody Kaufman of Huntington Woods;
grandchildren, Joshua and Jourdan
Levy; sister, Frances Kessler; Iris' chil-
dren, Glenn Adelson and Ilene Rosin,
Andrew and Linda Adelson, James and
Kris Adelson; their children, Sam and
Ellery Rosin, Jason and Justin Beckwith
and Amanda and Colleen Adelson.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

FRANCES HABER, 89, of West
Bloomfield, died may 9.
She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Joel and Arlene
Haber of West Bloomfield, Carl and
Suzanne Haber of New York; grand-
children, Lori Haber, Brad and
Samantha Haber, Glen and Amy
Haber, Allison and Hiram Torres,
Mindy Pisar, Cathy Pisar; two great-
grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Pulvers
and Hannah Schulich, both of
Florida. She was the beloved wife of
the late Morris Haber; devoted moth-
er of the late Lois Rubin.
Interment in New York.

ANNE KELLER,86, former Detroiter
of Los Angeles and Glendale, Ariz., died
May 5.
She is survived by her children, daugh-
ter and son-in-law Sharon and Bernard
Brodsky of Glendale, Penny Traskos of
Scottsdale, Ariz., Renay Keller of Van
Nuys, Calif.; grandchildren, Melisa and
Henry Samson, Faith and Jon Cutrona,
Howard and Rosie Brodsky; great-grand-
children, Brandon and Jordan Magers,
Shaun, Joshua and Austin Cutrona, Tyler
and Jennifer Brodsky, all residing in
Arizona. She was the beloved wife of the
late Herman Keller.

DANIEL S. HIRSCHBERG, 82, of
Oak Park, died May 8.
He is survived by his daughter,
Barbara Mendelson of Commerce
Township; grandchildren, Marci and
Lee Sharkas, Terry Mendelson; great-
grandchildren, Alexia, Andrew. He
was the beloved husband of the late
Phyllis Hirschberg; loving father of
NATHAN KUSNIT, 79, of Southfield,
died May 6.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Anne
Kusnit; son and daughter-in-law,
Stephen and Rae Kusnit of Arlington,
Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Lewis
and Helene Kent of Palm Desert, Calif.;
