For years the ZOA has exposed and documented the Palestinian authority's unmistakable strategy to achieve political and ter-
ritorial gains through a campaign of violence in defiance of treaty obligations. While successive Israeli Governments have
sought to engage Yasir Arafat in serious peace negotiations, he has embarked on a campaign of hatred and violence instigat-
ed by such terrorist groups as Hamas, Islamic Jihad and PFLP including armed groups subservient to the Palestinian Authority.
This Arafat inspired campaign of aggression against Israel's civilian population has doomed the peace process and forced
Israel to resort to defensive retaliatory measures.

The Terrorist attack against the United States, has precipitated America's military campaign and changed the U.S.
Government's perspective on the Arab-Israeli conflict. Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah have been declared terrorist organ-
izations, and ipso facto, enemies of the United States. Belatedly, the American Jewish community has come to the realization
that Yasir Arafat has disqualified himself as Israel's legitimate partner for peace. The Zionist Organization of America has
repeatedly warned not to view Arafat as a credible partner for peace.

It is not too late for friends and supporters of Israel to come to the conclusion that ZOA has been right all along and that its
well-substantiated position on Arafat and the Palestinian Authority has been vindicated.

Gary Rosenblatt, editor of the New York Jewish Week, the largest Federation newspaper in the U.S. recently wrote, 'The prem-
ise of the Oslo peace process has gone up in the flames of the renewed Intifada...The ZOA has kept up a constant barrage of
statements indicating that Palestinian leader never wavered in their Anti-Israel sentiments and strategies."
Similarly, the Baltimore Jewish Times reported, "Since the famous 1993 Rabin-Clinton-Arafat handshake, the ZOA has warned
that there was independent, documented evidence to prove that the Palestinians were far from living up to their end of the
deal...the ZOA watches as some of its warnings come to light. There are few groups more qualified to say the old cliche, 'WE
TOLD YOU SO!" •
Seth Lipsky, from the editorial staff of the Wall Street Journal says, "Arafat was always a fraud; only a few people had the
courage to say so... Morton Klein, National President of the ZOA, who has spent most of the past eight years warning American
Jewry that any realistic reading of Mr. Arafat's record made the idea of dealing with him seem insane."
Elaine Sciolino, of the New York Times says, 'The Government's decision to identify Palestinians allegedly involved in terror-
ism against Americans resulted (in part) by an intensive three-year lobbying by Morton Klein,- national President of the ZOA.
