LEON LANDE, 89, of Paris, France, died
Dec. 4.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years,
Marguerite Lande; son and daughter-in-
law, Maurice Lande and Eva Lande of
Bloomfield Township; grandsons David
Lande, Jeremie Lande and Jonathan
Lande. He was the brother of the late
Mordhay Lande.
Interment in France. Contributions may

JEROME LEE, 64, of Tampa, Fla., died
Dec. 2.
He is survived by his brother, Daniel
Lee of Farmington Hills, Raphael Lee of
Farmington Hills; sisters, Sylvia Kennedy
of California, Pauline Soffa of California.
Mr. Lee was the loving son of the late
Joseph Lee, the late Eva Lee.

HOPE LIFTON, 40, of Bloomfield Hills,
died Dec. 16.
She is survived by her parents, Sidney
and Carol Lifton of Beverly Hills; brother,
Keith Lifton of West Bloomfield; sisters
and brothers-in-law, Kimberly and Kevin
Shea Lifton of Huntington Woods, Tami
and Kevin Manton of Chicago.

SARA LITTMAN, 88, of Oak Park, died
Nov. 28.
She is survived by her sister, Tillie
Sloane of Oak Park; sister-in-law, Marilyn
Rollinger of Bloomfield Hills; cousins;
nieces and nephews. Mrs. Littman was the
loving sister of the late Irving Rollinger,
the late Mildred Kurzban, the late Loretta
Littman.

BENJAMIN MORGANROTH, 89, of
Southfield, died Dec. 17. As a young man,
he was an interior designer and upholster
and manufacturer of custom-made furni-
ture. He was the founder of Sherwood
Studios, a furniture and interior studio.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Grace Morganroth; sons and daughters-in-
law, Fred and Janice Morganroth of

Franklin, Dr. Joel and Gail Morganroth of
Gladwyne, Pa., Mark and Nancy
Morganroth of West Bloomfield, Dr.
Melvin and Jackie Morganroth of
Portland, Ore.; sisters, Ruth Berman of
West Bloomfield, Molly Fellows of
Southfield; grandchildren, Dr. Greg
Morganroth, Candie (Jeffrey) Rosenberg,
Erik (Andrea) Morganroth, Jason, Jennifer
and Jessica Morganroth, Amanda, Pamela,
Samantha and Matthew Morganroth,
Melissa (Randall) Lewis, Robin
Morganroth; great-grandchildren,
Madeline, Alexander, Adam and Emma.
He was the dear brother of the late Jack,
Sam, Phil and Sidney Morganroth; loving
son of the late Louisa and Mayer
Morganroth.
Interment was held at the Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions

DR. SAMUEL A. ROSENTHAL, 93, of
West Bloomfield, died Dec. 17. He was a
1933 graduate of Wayne State Medical
School, who worked his way through
school and supported his family as a
butcher. He was also a member a 50-year
member of Adat Shalom Synagogue, a
member of Maimonides Medical Society
and the American Medical Society
Dr. Rosenthal was a captain in the U.S.
Army Medical Corps during World War II
and established the first mobile medical
hospital in France after D-Day.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth
Rosenthal; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr.
Leonard and Janet Rosenthal of West
Bloomfield, Matthew and Carol Rosenthal
of Farmington Hills, Benjamin and Marta
Rosenthal of Franklin, Dr. Jerome and
Laurie Rosenthal of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Beth and Ryan Lescoe,
Alan, Eri, Jill, Rachel, Jennifer, Eryn and
Julie Rosenthal; sister, Goldie Rieger of
Pittsburgh; brother and sister-in-law,
Sigmund and Dorothy Rosenthal of
California. He was the dear brother of the
late Willie Rosenthal, the late Harry
Rosenthal and the late Joel Rosenthal.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to Adat
Shalom Synagogue. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

IDA SAMUELS, 87, of Bloomfield Hills,
died Dec. 13. She was an executive at
Samit Building Company. She was also a
member and active with Hadassah,
Hadassah Hospital, Women's American
ORT, American Jewish Congress,
Congregation Shaarey Zedek, the
Holocaust Memorial and the Jewish
Association for Residential Care. She also
actively supported the Jewish Federation
of Metropolitan Detroit, Muscular
Dystrophy, Anderson Cancer Research,
Alzheimer's Association, American
