being a counselor-in-training at
Willoway Camp. For her mitzvah proj-
ects, Robyn volunteered at Yad Ezra in
Oak Park and at the Temple Emanu-El
library. She also enjoyed babysitting at
High Holiday services.

Alexander Samuel Greenstein will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 24, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. He is the son of Herman
and Dr. Annette
Greenstein and the
brother of Victoria
and Joseph. Sharing
in the simchah are
proud grandparents
Josef and Adina Tzeel
of West Bloomfield
and Nelly Greenstein
of Brooklyn. He is
also the grandson of the late Joseph
Greenstein.
Alex is an eighth-grade honor student
at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. He enjoys
tennis, soccer and basketball as well as
music and computers. His mitzvah proj-
ects included participation in the Jewish
Association for Residential Care pro-
gram, helping to care for toddlers at
Adat Shalom High Holiday services and
assisting in assembling mishloach manot
for the Adat Shalom Purim Parcel
Project. His most meaningful mitzvah
project was donating food to Yad Ezra in
Oak Park.

Adam Benjamin Mickelson will cele-
brate his bar mitzvah on Friday, Nov.
23, at Temple Israel. He is the son of
Linda and Dr. Ira
Mickelson and broth-
er of Sarah and
Daniel. Excited grand-
mother is Thelma
Mickelson; he is also
the grandson of the
late Harry Mickelson
and the late Betty and
Fred Rowe.
A student at West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills, Adam likes
running, computers, baseball, swim-
ming and action movies. He found it
particularly significant to provide
books for children from disadvantaged
homes as part of his mitzvah projects.

Blake Harrison Rochkind will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 24, at Temple Kol Ami.
He is the son of Lynne and Rabbi
Norman T Roman and Sanford
Rochkind. Participating in the Shabbat
service will be his siblings, Adam, Chad

and Justin Rochkind
and Caryn and
Benjamin Roman.
Blake is the grandson
of Pearl and Julius
Bello, the late Sophie
and Albert Rochkind
and the late Helen
and Bernard Roman.
Blake is an honor student at Orchard
Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. His hobbies and interests
include sports, astronomy and comput-
ers. He enjoys spending summers at the
Olin Sang Ruby Union Institute in
Oconomowoc, Wis., and is looking for-
ward to returning to Israel in December
with family and friends. His mitzvah
project has been working at sporting
events, assisting children and adults with
special needs; and he is collecting gently
used sports equipment to donate to the
students at Schulze School.

E. Olivia Weiner of Franklin will
become a bat mitzvah on Saturday, Nov.
24, at Temple Beth El. She is the daugh-
ter of Gwen and S. Evan Weiner and sis-
ter of E. Elizabeth and S. Eliot. Her
grandmother is Eunice Stone. She is also
the granddaughter of the late Joshua
(Jim) Stone.
E. Olivia attends Detroit Country
Day School in
_Beverly Hills. Her
interests include
school sports, the
Franklin softball
league, skiing, travel-
ing and cooking. She
especially enjoys
spending time at
Camp Tanuga in
Kalkaska. For her
mitzvah projects, she spent time packing
food at Gleaners Food Bank in Detroit,
raising money for the National Disaster
and Search Dog Foundation and, with
friends from school, organizing a car
wash to earn money for the Red Cross.

Michael Ari Yashinsky (Michael Aryeh)
will be called to the Torah as a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday, Nov. 24, at
Congregation B'nai Moshe. He is the
son of Debra and Gary Yashinsky and
brother of Gabriel, Joseph and Samuel.
He is the grandson of Elizabeth Weiss
and Lillian Yashinsky.
He is also the grand-
son of the late Rubin
Weiss and the late
Sam Yashins
