Ryan Andrews will celebrate his bar
mitzvah during Havdalah services on
Saturday, Nov. 24, at Temple Israel. He
is the son of Susan and Marc Andrews
and brother of Aaron
Fleisher. Sharing in
the simchah are excit-
ed grandparents
Shirley and Mark
Singerman, Rita and
Glen Ball and Janice
Andrews. He is also
the grandson of the
late Harold Andrews.
A Farmington Hills.Warner Middle
School student, Ryan likes soccer, video
games and computers. Mitzvah projects
included helping the Red Cross and vol-
unteering at the Temple Israel Labor
Day picnic.

Michael Harris Band will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah at Temple
Israel on Saturday, Nov. 24. He is the
son of Merle and Steven Band and
grandchild of Minnie Bernberg. He is
also the grandson of
the late Max Bernberg
and the late Clara and
Harry Band.
A student at
Orchard Lake Middle
School in West
Bloomfield, Michael is
interested in magic,
golf, bowling and
boating. Among his mitzvah projects, he
volunteered at Yad Ezra in Oak Park, in
Temple Israel's religious school and he
donated books to underprivileged chil-
dren.

Stephanie Elyse Berman will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 24, at Congregation
ShaPrey Zedek. Participating in the cere-
mony will be her proud parents, Julie
and Allen Berman,
along with older
brother Michael and
younger sister Allison
Berman. Delighted
grandparents are
Gloria Rivkin of West
Bloomfield and
Norma and Jack
Berman of
Farmington Hills. She is also the grand-
daughter of the late Fredric Rivkin.
Stephanie is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield and is in the seventh grade.
She enjoys tennis, attending Tamarack
Camps every summer, singing and other
performing arts. Her most memorable
mitzvah projects include volunteering at
Yad Ezra in Oak Park, the Haven in

Pontiac and collecting funds and partici-
pating in the AIDs Walk for Metro
Detroit.

Lorne Derek Gaum, son of proud par-
ents Stephanie and Wayne Yashinsky
and the grandson of
Helen and Henry
Maker, Amelia Gaum
and Ann Yashinsky,
will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Nov. 24,
at Congregation Beth
Shalom. He is also the
son of the late Ian
Gaum.
Lorne is a seventh-grader at
Bloomfield Hills Middle School. He
plays the piano, clarinet and saxophone.
He also enjoys participating in theater,
acting, running sound and working on
set construction, decoration and break-
down. Lorne's other interests include
Shitokan Karate, computers, art and
reading, especially comic books. He is
involved with the elderly, sharing and
caring with them.

David H. Goldenthal will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 24, at Temple Israel. He is the son
of Claudia and Robert Goldenthal and
brother of Hayley and Steven. Excited
grandparents are
Sarah and Alex
Rhodes; he is also the
grandson of the late
Hannah and A.J.
Goldenthal.
David attends
Bloomfield Hills
Middle School and
enjoys baseball, col-
lecting baseball cards,
music and the computer. His most
meaningful mitzvah projects were work-
ing with senior citizens.

Robyn Alyse Gonte (Hanna Rikki) of
Farmington Hills will be bat mitzvah at
Temple Emanu-El on Friday, Nov. 23.
Participating in the ceremony will be her
parents, Michael and Laurie, and
younger sister Mallory. Proud grandpar-
ents are Nick Gonte
of Farmington Hills,
Judith Brown of
Southfield and
Sheldon Brown of
Oakland Township.
She is also the grand-
daughter of the late
Marilyn Gonte.
Robyn is an honor
student at Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills. She enjoys playing the
