on Sept. 5.
Carl Reiner — actor, come-
dian, comedy writer and first-
class raconteur — appeared at
a benefit for the Detroit
Friends of Bar-Ilan University.
About 600 tickets were sold,
along with enough ads to fill a
hefty playbill.
Event co-chairpersons were
Rochelle Lieberman and Eli
Scherr; Jeff Sakwa was playbill
chair; and Karen Alpiner and
Debbie Muskovitz handled
event arrangements.

rime," said Barbara Horowitz,
outgoing president of the
Detroit Friends.
