Cookbook Gives
Holiday Recipes

Workshop Addresses
Mothers, Daughters

Just in time for the holidays,
the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's
Commission on Jewish
Eldercare Services (COJES)
and Partnership 2000 are
offering a new cookbook,
Delicious Legacy: Great Jewish
Cooking from Michigan and
the Central Galilee.
Seniors from Michigan and
Israel collaborated to develop
the bilingual cookbook that
reflects their varied back-
grounds and unique tastes.
Delicious Legacy contains
many recipes with accompa-
nying stories associated with
times of celebration and tradi-
tional Jewish holiday fare.
Proceeds from the sale of the
cookbook will benefit older
adult programs both locally and
in Michigan's Partnership 2000
region in Israel's Central Galilee.
The cookbook is $18 (or
$23.50 with shipping) and
may be obtained by mail or
from the Federation Planning
Department in the Max M.
Fisher Federation Building,
6735 Telegraph Road,
Bloomfield Township. Checks
should be made payable to
the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit. To
order a cookbook, contact Pat
Mayer, (248) 203-1519.

Jewish Family Service will
host Mother and Adult
Daughters: A Journey of
Discovery and
Understanding beginning
Monday, Oct. 15.
The six-week workshop is
geared toward helping moth-
ers and daughters under-
stand how their relationship
with each other impacts all
other roles in life.
Participants will learn how
to enhance communication
between generations.
Led by JFS clinical social
workers Marilyn Hertzberg
and Erella Reichman, the
workshop will be held for six
consecutive Mondays
through Nov. 19 at 6:30
p.m. at the JFS West
Bloomfield Center for
Families, 6960 Orchard
Lake Road, Suite 202.
For registration and infor-
mation, call JFS, (248) 559-
1500, and ask for Marilyn
Hertzberg or Erella
Reichman.
Jewish Family Service
provides social and mental
health services to adults,
children and families.

Aid Society
Sets Service

Society of Detroit will hold its

conduct the service and

Congregation B'nai Moshe
will chant the El Mole
Rachamim in memory of the
estimated 30,000 Jews from
the city of Radom, Poland,

were victims of the Holocaust.
All members, friends and
their children are invited to
attend.
