Federation President Penny
Blumenstein made the announce-
ment at the June 19 combined board
meetings of Federation and the
United Jewish Foundation of
Metropolitan Detroit.
The participants convened in the
foyer to watch Blumenstein and
Doreen Hermelin, the late ambas-
sador's wife, unveil the gold le:ters
denoting the Ambassador David B.
Hermelin Executive Conference
Rooms.
Ambassador Hermelin passed
away Nov. 22, 2000. The philan-
thropist, businessman and activist
for Jewish Detroit served as the U.S.
Ambassador to Norway from 1997
