ership and Service, awarded annu-
ally to undergraduates who have
made outstanding contributions to
Johns Hopkins University in
Baltimore. Md. He is majoring in

Gene M. Schramm of Southfield
has been named by the regents of
the University of Michigan as pro-
fessor emeritus of
Semitics and lin-
guistics.
Schramm is a
leading semiticist
and linguist theo-
rist and made
discoveries in
comparative

syntax and semantics, dialect geog-

sis of Hebrew. He was awarded a
Guggenheim fellowship in 1964-

Fogelman of Southfield also

tion to the program. The DJI is a
