Bar/Bat Mitzvah

grandparents are Ethel and Allen
Gordon and Doris and Grant
Shriver.
A student at Power Middle School
in Farmington, Jake likes to skate-
board and build Warhammer 40,000
as well as jog with his dad. His most
meaningful mitzvah project was
donating to the Michigan Jewish
AIDS Coalition.

Stephanie Ann Nosan will become a
bat mitzvah on Friday, June 15, at
Temple Beth El. She is the daughter
of Jo-Anne and
Terry Nosan and sis-
ter of Loren and
Blair. All are thrilled
to help her celebrate
this important occa-
sion. Proud grand-
parents are Esther
and Nathan Katz
and Pet Nosan. She
is also the granddaughter of the late
Manny Nosan.
Stephanie is a seventh-grader at
West Hills Middle School in
Bloomfield Hills. She plays on the
tennis, volleyball and soccer teams at
school. She has helped out making
Purim baskets for Jewish Education
For Families.

will become a bat
mitzvah at
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek on
Saturday, June 16.
Participating in the
ceremony will be
her parents, Richard
and Debra Partrich.
Proud grandparents are Olga E and
Iry Dworkin and Joan and Harry
Partrich. She is also the granddaugh-
ter of the late Edith M. Weber.
Rose is a seventh-grader at Detroit
Country Day School in Beverly
Hills. Her interests are art, in-line
skating, ice skating and hiking. Her
mitzvah projects were volunteering at
Yad Ezra and helping at the syna-
gogue.

Daniel Monroe Rodden will cele-
brate his bar mitzvah at Temple Israel
on Saturday, June 16. He is the son
of Laura and Neil Schwartz and
Michael and Jennifer Rodden and
brother of Jason and Lindsay
Schwartz, Christopher, Rachel and
Nicholas Rodden. Sharing in the

parents Patricia
Klein and Stanley
Klein and Anna and
Seymour Schwartz.
An honor student
at West Bloomfield's
Orchard Lake
Middle School,
Danny enjoys basketball, baseball,
golf and music. Among his favorite
mitzvah projects was the opportunity
to volunteer at Yad Ezra.

Maya Ergas Shwayder will become a
bat mitzvah on Friday, June 15, at
Temple Kol Ami. Celebrating her
achievement will be her parents,
Aimee Ergas and
Tor Shwayder, and
her brothers Ari and
Kobey. Maya is the
granddaughter of
Joann and Charles
Clayman, the late
Warren Shwayder,
Ralph Ergas and the
late Marge Ergas.
Maya is an honor
student at East Middle School in
Farmington Hills. She is a member
of the National Junior Honor Society
and the Mosaic Club, which pro-
motes kindness in the school corn-
munity. She is a cellist in the Detroit
"Symphony Orchestra Civic Sinfonia
and studies dance and theater. Her
mitzvah projects included helping
with Temple Kol Ami's Housing the
Homeless project, delivering meals
for the National Council of Jewish
Women's Meals on Wheels program
and sorting and marking bedding
and medical supplies for the Gujarat,
India, Earthquake Relief Project.

Meryl Ashley Sklar will celebrate
her bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Friday, June 15. She is the daughter
of Wendy and Dr. Sandy Sklar and
sister of Justin. Excited grandparents
are Libby and Leo
Sklar. She is also
the grandchild of
the late Fay and
Lawrence Leonard.
Attending Abbott
Middle School in
West Bloomfield,
Meryl likes tennis,
golf, swimming and
singing. As part of her mitzvah proj-
ects, she found it rewarding to vol-
unteer when Temple Israel housed
the homeless.
