School, Kevin is interested in in-line
hockey, baseball, video games, acting
and making movies and playing the
piano and saxophone. Among his mitz-
vah projects, he visited a nursing home
with his dog and he donated to the
Alzheimer's Association.

Jeremy Fredrick Posner will be called to
the Torah as a bar
mitzvah on Saturday,
June 2, at Temple
Beth Ll. He is the son
of Gail and Ken
Posner and the broth-
er of Alan. His proud
grandparents are

Posner and Mattie
Fredrick. He is also the grandson of the
late David C. Fredrick.
Jeremy is an honor student at West
Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills
and plays the clarinet in the West Hills
jazz, concert and honors bands and the
Temple Beth El Kids Klez Band. He is
active in school and synagogue activi-
ties, including forensics, Math Counts,
Current Events Club, tennis, wrestling,
Yad Ezra and assisting at an elementary
school.
Jenna Paige Sakwa will celebrate her bat
mitzvah on Friday,
June 1, at Temple
Israel. She is the
daughter of Meryl
and Dr. Marc Sakwa
and sister of Connor
and Sydney. Sharing
in her simcha are her

Jenna is on the dean's list at

in Bloomfield Hills. She enjoys tennis,
skiing, and spending summers at Camp
Tamakwa. Her most meaningful mitz-
vah project was volunteering at Yad
Ezra.
Sarah Scrivener became a bat mitzvah
on Saturday, May 19,
at Temple Emanu-El.
She is the daughter
of Michael Scrivener
and Mary Ann
Simmons and sister
of Katherine.
Sarah is a seventh-
grade student at
Birmingham
Covington School, where she studies
advanced algebra and Spanish, in addi-
tion to her other classes. She has partic-
ipated on the track team, forensics
team and school newspaper. Sarah has
studied. Suzuki classical piano for seven
years. In her free time, she enjoys listen-
ing to music, watching movies and
talking with her friends.
For her mitzvah project, Sarah
worked at Yad Ezra, assisted with tem-
ple activities and spent time with sen-
iors at a local nursing home.
Daniel Shelden will become a bar
mitzvah on Saturday, June 2, at Temple
Kol Ami. He is the son of Michael and
Kathy Shelden and the younger brother
of Steve and Joanna
Shelden. His proud

Sheridan. He is also
the grandson of the
late Marie Sheridan.
Danny is a sev-
enth-grade student at
Bloomfield Hills Middle School, where
plays on the football, basketball and
lacrosse teams. He also enjoys golf and
tennis. His mitzvah projects included
volunteering at the Baldwin Center in
Birmingham and at Yad Ezra. Danny
will attend Osrui Camp this summer.
