A student at Walled Lake Middle
School, Ian enjoys being on the track
team and working with computers. For
his mitzvah project, Ian participated in
two Jewish Family Service volunteer
days and a Jewish Federation volunteer
day.

Amanda Brooke Tashjian and Ross
Stephen Tashjian, children of Rhoda

Yiddish songs, Hebrew melodies, cantorial
selections and American favorites from
Broadway musicals to Rock -n- Roll

and Timothy Tashjian, will become
b'nai mitzvah during Havdalah services
at Temple Israel on Saturday, June 2.
They are the grandchildren of Esther
and David Ginsburg and of the late
Rose and Arthur Tashjian. They attend
Walled Lake Middle School, where
they are honor students.
Amanda dances and exercises as her
hobbies. Among her mitzvah projects,
she worked with preschoolers, volun-
teered at the Israel Fest JerusaleMania
and donated to the Jewish National
Fund.
Ross's interests involve ice- and in-
line hockey and golf. He particularly
enjoyed volunteering at Temple Israel's
Labor Day picnic and at the Israel Fest
JerusaleMania as part of his mitzvah
projects.

Zachary Ian Meisner, son of Gerry and

Joseph Meisner and Gina Warnick, was
called to the Torah as
a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, May 26, at
the Congregation
Havurah Shalom in
Portland, Ore. He is
the grandson of
Lillian and Irving
Meisner of
Southfield.
Zack is an honor student at Lake
Oswego Junior High School in Lake
Oswego, Ore. He enjoys sports, espe-
cially basketball and outdoor Oregon
activities such as skiing, camping and
Fishing. For his mitzvah project, he vol-
unteered his time and talents at the
Rose Schnitzer Retirement Home.
