Middle School in Oak Park. He plays
the drums in the seventh-grade band,
the j277 band and his own punk rock
band. He enjoys snowboarding, in-line
skating, skateboarding, Camp Tamarack
and family adventures. For his mitzvah
project, Josh helped with several activi-
ties at Harriet and Ben Teitel Jewish
Apartments in Oak Park.

Shawn Ardon Silver will become a bar
mitzvah during Havdalah services on
Saturday, May 5, at Temple Israel. He is
the son of Donna and
David Silver and
brother of Kari.
Excited grandmother
is Estelle Kabrin. He
is also the grandchild
of the late Samuel
Kabrin and the late
Sue and Ben Silver.
A Bloomfield Hills
West Hills Middle School honor stu-
dent, Shawn enjoys tennis, football,
golf, computers, watching TV, medical
science, traveling and reading mystery
books. His mitzvah projects included
working at a rescue mission, volunteer-
ing at a nursing home and making
donations to the Jewish Association for
Residential Care, the Karmanos Cancer
Institute and Yad Ezra's Passover
Campaign.

Amy Beth Taub of Farmington Hills
will be called to the Torah as a bat mitz-
vah at Temple Shir Shalom on Friday,
May 4. She is the daughter of Kim and
Gary Taub and sister of Adam. She is
the granddaughter of Guida Golby of

West Bloomfield, the
late Robert Golby
and the late Irene and
Alex Taub.
Amy is an honor
student at Warner
Middle School in
Farmington Hills,
where she plays the
flute in the school band. She enjoys
reading, writing stories, skiing, dancing,
being with her friends and spending
summers at Camp Tamarack. For the
past two years, Amy has volunteered at
the Danto Family Health Care Center
in West Bloomfield.

Marc Rosenbaum Alfandary will be
called to the Torah in Oakland, Calif,
on Saturday, May 5. He is the son of
Stephen Rosenbaum, formerly of
Southfield, and Aileen Alfandary and
the brother of David
and Natalie. He is the
grandson of Charlotte
Rosenbaum of
Southfield and the
late Irving
Rosenbaum.
Marc attends
Willard Middle
School in Berkeley,
Calif, where he takes honors algebra
and Spanish. He enjoys soccer, capoeira
and Afro-Haitian drumming. As part of
his mitzvah project, he will help set up a
community-based home for young peo-
ple with developmental disabilities.

of their son Kevin Scott to
Nadine Martin, daughter of

and Valette Otis of Quebec.
Kevin earned his Ph.D. in
film studies from Sheffield
Hallam University in
Sheffield, England. He is a
visiting assistant professor of
film studies at University of
Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Nadine received her mas-
ter's degree in fluvial geomor-
phology from Universite
Laval, Canada, and is work-
ing on a doctorate degree in
the same field. She teaches
geography at Indiana University-
Purdue University in Indianapolis.
