of their daughter Alissa Sandler to
Lance Shipman, son of Tina and
Richard Shipman of East Lansing.
Alissa earned a bachelor of science
degree in human resource develop-

a registered social worker. She is
employed with the Make-A-Wish
Foundation.
Lance earned a bachelor's degree in
landscape architecture from Michigan
State University. He is employed with
SmithGroup JJP.
An October wedding is planned.

Levine-Ober

Linda and Leonard Sahn of Orchard
Lake and Michael D. Levine of
Indianopolis are pleased to announce
the engagement of their daughter
Jessica Rachel Levine to Michael
David Ober, son of Joan and Phil
Ober of Bloomfield Hills.
Jessica earned her bachelor's degree
in resource management from the
University of Michigan and is com-
pleting her teaching certificate in sec-

ondary science at Oakland University.
She is student teaching in Troy.
Michael graduated from Cornell
University with a bachelor's degree in
chemistry from Wayne State
University School of Medicine. He is
a resident in the opthalmology pro-
gram at Cornell University Medical
College in New York.
A May wedding is planned. The
couple will reside in Manhattan.

Pearlman-Denker

Barbara and Harvey Pearlman of
Walled Lake are delighted to
announce the engagement of their
daughter Michelle Gail to Dr. Andrew
Evan Denker, son of Maxine Denker
of Philadelphia and the late Barry
Denker.
Michelle graduated from the
University of Michigan with a bache-
lor of musical arts degree and received
a master's of music degree from the
University of Illinois. She is pursuing

Drew graduated from Princeton
University with a bachelor of arts in
molecular biology with highest honors
and received both a doctor of medi-
cine degree and a doctor of philoso-
phy in biochemistry and molecular
biology from Thomas Jefferson
University in Philadelphia. He will be -
an associate director of clinical phar-
macology at Merck and Co. in
Rahway, N.J.
A July wedding is planned.

Allen Jacobs

John and Gilda Jacobs of Huntington
Woods are delighted to announce the
engagement of their daughter Rachel
Helene to Michael Z. Allen, son of
David Allen of Scottsdale, Ariz., and
Joan and Neil Jacobs of Worthington,
Ohio.
Rachel holds a degree in sociology
and anthropology from Swarthmore
College. Michael holds a master's

degree from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology.
The couple now live in New York
City, where Rachel is a student at
Columbia Business School and
Michael is an investment analyst for
SSR Realty Advisors.
A Detroit wedding is planned for
September.
