She is student teaching in Troy. Michael graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Allen Jacobs John and Gilda Jacobs of Huntington Woods are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Rachel Helene to Michael Z. Allen, son of David Allen of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Joan and Neil Jacobs of Worthington, Ohio. Rachel holds a degree in sociology and anthropology from Swarthmore College. Michael holds a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The couple now live in New York City, where Rachel is a student at Columbia Business School and Michael is an investment analyst for SSR Realty Advisors. A Detroit wedding is planned for September.
