In Israel, your classroom is a country. Take part in a unique Israel
experience featuring an interactive academic overview of
Jewish history through travel. This is an experience you will never forget!

INFORMATIONAL MEETING

August 21 • 7 p.m.
Meet Joel Goldman, education director of the Shorashim Program

Michigan/Israel Connection and the

Debbie Schwartzenfeld of West
Bloomfield said the class was "like a
refresher course."
"It got me excited about going,"
she said. "Another advantage is you
get to know each other."
The Young Adult Division also
held a pre-mission get-together and a
post-mission debriefing.
Will the classes be held again next
year?
"Absolutely," said trip co-chair
Scott Kaufman of Birmingham. Once
the mission got to Israel, the results
were apparent, he said.
In earlier years, tour guides had
assumed knowledge that people didn't
have, and mission participants, who
come from a wide array of back-
grounds, were often afraid to ask.
This mission was different,
Kaufman said.
"When we were in the Golan
Heights, for example, we ran short of
time. We said anyone who wanted to
