Leads Beth El
Alan A. May was installed as president
at the annual meeting of Temple Beth
El. He has served the congregation in
many capacities.
May is president
of the Detroit
Region of the
National
Conference for
Community and
Justice, and is a
member of the exec-
utive board, chair of
Alan May
investments and
national vice chair of the NCCJ. In
2001, he will begin a term as American
delegate to the International Conference
of Christians and Jews.
May is a practicing attorney, special
assistant attorney general, past chair of
the Detroit Bar Probate Section and
co-chair of the Federal Judicial
Evaluation Committee. He also is for-
mer chair of the Michigan Civil
Rights Commission and a life member
of the NAACP. May is active in the
Michigan Republican Party.

Lockman, Dennis N. Frank, Marshall E
Loewenstein, Roberta Charnas, vice
presidents; Mark Canvasser, treasurer;
and Dr. Norman Rotter, secretary.
Newly installed_board members -

Dreyfuss, Lawrence Epstein, Dr. Charles
Greenberg, Scott Jacobson, Randie
Levin, Warren Rose, Pam Rosenblum,
Linda Sircus, Henry Wineman II,
Charles Zamek and Carol Ziecik. Lois
Freeman, Deena Lockman and Earl
Remer, with Marion Freedman as chair,
have been elected to serve on the 2001
nominating committee.
Picnic Planned
For Veterans
Michigan Jewish War Veterans and its
ladies auxiliary will host patients at a
picnic at the Battle Creek VA Medical
Facility starting noon Sunday, July 23.
The deli luncheon will be chaired by
JWV Chaplain Tom Tannis. The bus
trip to Battle Creek, under the supervi-
sion of State Commander Herman
Sherline and auxiliary co-presidents
Eleanor Silk and Martha Hauptman, will
begin at 8 am. at the memorial home,
16990 W 12 Mile, Southfield.
