Here's To...
John Nemon of Farmington Hills
and Tamarac, Fla., was recently
elected to represent the depart-
ment of Florida as a member of
the National Executive Committee
of the Jewish War Veterans of the
United States of America. Nemon
has served as a Michigan
Department Commander of jwv,
chairman of the Metropolitan
Division of the Allied Jewish
Campaign (now Federation's
Annual Campaign) and a member
of the Community Relations
Committee of the Jewish
Community Council of
Metropolitan Detroit. He also is a
life member of the Hebrew Free
Loan Association of Metropolitan
Detroit.
Harvey Kessler of Windsor,
Ontario, is the new executive
director at the Windsor Jewish
Federation. He will be responsible
for the community's I.L. Peretz
House, a seniors apartment build-
ing; the Jewish Community
Centre and United Jewish Appeal
campaign.
Jonathan Goldberg of West
Bloomfield, son of Edward and
Mariette Goldberg, recently grad-
uated magna cum laude from
Harvard College with a bachelor
of arts degree in economics. He
was elected to membership in the
Phi Beta Kappa Society and was a
four-time recipient of the John
Harvard Scholarship, awarded
annually in recognition of acade-
mic achievement of the highest
distinction. Goldberg also was an
active member on the business
board of Harvard University's
daily newspaper, the Harvard
Crimson, serving as an advertising
manager and later as a director. In
August, -Goldberg will move to
New York City, where he will
begin working as a business ana-
lyst in the corporate finance prac-
tice at McKinsey and Company.
Howard Nathan Hubert, former
Southfield resident of Chagrin
Falls, Ohio, recently received his
executive master of business
administration degree from the
Weatherhead School of
Management, Case Western
Reserve University. He was the
recipient of the Dean's Award for
Academic Excellence.
Six Michigan residents are among
the members of the Yeshiva
University Class of 2000 who
received degrees this commence-
ment season. The graduates are
Azriel Laurence Chelst of
Southfield, bachelor of arts,
Yeshiva College; Shira Aviva Weiss
and Rechelle A. Winkler, both of
Southfield, bachelor of arts, Stern
College for Women; Naftali Nadel
and David Aaron Jerome, both of
Southfield, bachelor of science, Sy
Syms School of Business-Men;
and Donna Patrice Flatt of Oak
•Park, bachelor of science, Sy Syms
School of Business-Women.
Jonathan L. Golob of Bloomfield
Hills was named to the dean's list
for the spring semester at Johns
Hopkins University in Baltimore.
Golob, who is majoring in bio-
medical engineering, is the son of
Michael and Carol Golob and
attended Cranbrook Kingswood
School in Bloomfield Hills.

STUDY SKILLS
Space for Changing Families, a pro-
gram of National Council of Jewish
Women, is sponsoring a bereave-
ment group that will offer a safe
atmosphere for grieving adults to
talk about the death of a parent or
sibling.
A trained facilitator leads the
group, which meets 10 a.m.-noon
for six weeks, beginning Tuesday,
July 25, at the Space/NCJW office,
Homestead USA Building, 26400
Lahser Road, Suite 100, in
Southfield.
There is no charge to join, but
pre-registration is required by July
