He has served the congregation in many capacities. May is president of the Detroit Region of the National Conference for Community and Justice, and is a member of the exec- utive board, chair of Alan May investments and national vice chair of the NCCJ. In 2001, he will begin a term as American delegate to the International Conference of Christians and Jews. May is a practicing attorney, special assistant attorney general, past chair of the Detroit Bar Probate Section and co-chair of the Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee. He also is for- mer chair of the Michigan Civil Rights Commission and a life member of the NAACP. May is active in the Michigan Republican Party. Fellow officers installed are Stuart M. Lockman, Dennis N. Frank, Marshall E Loewenstein, Roberta Charnas, vice presidents; Mark Canvasser, treasurer; and Dr. Norman Rotter, secretary. Picnic Planned For Veterans Michigan Jewish War Veterans and its ladies auxiliary will host patients at a picnic at the Battle Creek VA Medical Facility starting noon Sunday, July 23.
