Judith Greenstone Miller; Eleanor,
Benjamin and Theodore Hooker. Plans
are pending for a memorial service in
Detroit.

Carolann and Dr. Sidney Seltzer; nieces
and nephews. She was the beloved wife
of the late Edward Ratner and Joseph
Dvorin.

GERTRUDE MOSES, 88, of

SIDNEY REBECK, 57, of Oak Park,

Southfield, died June 3.
She is survived by her sister Ann
Kasoff of Southfield; nieces and a
nephew. She was the sister of the late
Edythe Scheck.

of Franklin, died June 2. She was a grad-
uate of Birmingham Groves High
School. In 1996, she participated in a
University of Michigan study abroad
program with an emphasis in Italian and
art history. Ms. Polan received her bach-
elor of science degree in biology from
the University of Michigan and a master
of public health degree in epidemiology
from Emory University Rollins School
of Public Health.
Her medical interests led her to
intern at Sinai Hospital, serve as a
research assistant at the University of
Michigan School of Public health and as
a teaching assistant in the University of
Michigan Biology Department. In addi-
tion, Ms. Polan was a group leader in
the Phoenix Volunteer Center and a
member of Amnesty International and
the Medical Students for Choice.
She is survived by her parents, Jesse
and Jane Polan of Franklin; brother,
Jason Polan; sister, Janile Polan; grand-
mother, Florence Poan. She was the lov-
ing granddaughter of the late Bernard
Polan, the late Saul J. Turell and the late
Renee G. Turell.
Interment at Franklin Cemetery.

75, of Bloomfield Hills, died June 4.
Along with his two brothers, Mr.
Rosenthal co-founded National
Lumber Company in
Warren. He was a
1943 graduate of
Central High School,
was a captain of his
football team and
immediately upon
graduation enlisted in
the army infantry.
